It works, just not as well as it should

As a heart rate monitor it is ok. It works with most of the gym equipment I've used. I travel, so I'm using a new treadmill every week, but it really does have to wet, tight and positioned correctly in order to be useful (seeing your heart rate peak at 220 when its really at 160 isn't good for anyone).

I currently use Nike+ GPS on my iPhone 4 and then log my heart rate with a Nike+ Sports band. It works, but isn't great, there doesn't seem to be an easy way of combining the data.

    Works perfect for me....

This little thing made my runs more effective. Works great with my nano 5th gen. without any problems and Sportband as well. Only downside, I have to wear it really tight or it keeps falling down.

    Great, but

I bought this with a 6th gen iPodnano, and it works great.
There are only a few things that I would recommend Apple/Polar/Nike:
    - activate audio feedback when a heart rate range is set. So that you don't have to push the Sleep/Wake button to know if you have to speed up or slow down to stay in the set heart rate range.
    - make it compatible with iPhone and iPodtouch
    - add the possibility for audio guided interval training

Nevertheless this is a GREAT product, but in my opinion these recommendations would make it a much greater product.

Only works with Nike+ branded equipment

    • Written by from Newnan

When used with any Nike+ branded equipment, everything works great. It does not work with equipment that only state Polar support if they do not have the Nike+ symbol. It does not work with LifeFitness Classic Series Treadmills that seem to be at most gyms and hotels. Still need to wear a T31 transmitter to use the Heart Rate based programs on this equipment. Would be 5 Stars if this had T31 backward compatibility.
