    Freezes/ Locks up iMac

    I agree with the others on here that had the same problem, this Locks up or Freezes my iMac all the time. I have to Hard reboot my iMac to get it back going. I have used other Eye TV products before and never had the problem, but this one is terrible. I will be returning it! Please do something about this Eye TV.

    crashes like crazy

    I have a brand new mac mini with 8g of ram. This is the only thing running and the computer freezes on a daily basis.

    Other than that the remote is horrible. I really thought this would be a great solution for a media center in our house. My wife and kids made me disconnect it all because it always crashed.

    The only bad purchase from the apple store. The system constantly freezes on my iMac and help from the company has been cryptic at best and nonexistent . Apple should not sell this system at their store.

    Horrible Experience

    I should have quit while I was ahead. I started with an EyeTV Hybrid but wanted HD from my satellite box so I traded that in for the EyeTV HD. Started out with me trying to record some VHS videos to a Macbook Pro. The audio kept cutting out. Then I tried watching TV on the iMac. The video would freeze and when it would finally come back there would be no audio. The only way to get it back was to disconnect the device or restart the software. This happens 10-15 times per hour of TV. Recording a show is impossible. Too bad this item is 'non-returnable' to the Apple Store. I have a $200 waste of silicone and plastic.

    Worst recorder on the market

    I replaced a Win7 PC and Hauppauge TV recorder card, and this product does not live up to the high standard set by Apple. It does not consistently change channels with the low quality remote or when the device is changing the channel for a recording. Many of the recordings have gaps in the picture and the sound, so you only see or hear part of the recorded content. I strongly recommend that you not purchase this product.

    EyueTV HD

    Although the software has a switch setting for closed captions it does not capture them.
    Technical support was less than helpful and only pointed me to a knowledge base article that seems to state it does capture closed captions. As a deaf person closed captions are important to me.

    It was simple to set up, but has no digital audio input. Picture quality was less than promised. For me without Closed Captions I have a $200.00 paper weight.
