    Provide useful information, also on connected drives and wifi TimeMachine

    I was a little skeptical in the start, as Drive Genius looked as an upgraded Disk Utility (the explanations on what is actually does and can do is not always extensive) but I have found that it does a great job when installed on the computer and watches over the different drives on the computer and those connected.

    In two instances in less than 3 months Drive Genius has identified problems and helped me to take action before the issue developed into a disaster. Besides the technical e-mail support is excellent and very responsive and helpful. The tech support did actually come up with very useful suggestions, when drive Genius reported problems with our Time Machine (T2) and made me realize that I needed to make sure to have an extra backup and get the thing checked by Apple (have not had the time to do that yet).

    I have Drive Genius running on my iMac and my MacBook Air, and are now considered an essential and integrated part of my whole set up.

    I read in the "Review Tips" here that users are not expected to comment on the services related to the product, but think that with disk utility like Drive Genius the support is rather critical for the experience and usefulness of the product, so I really hope that Apple will not delete this part of the comment.

    Drive Genius is an important to help you on keep an eye on the performance of the computers and drives.

    DG 3 + support

    I bought Drive Genius 2 and upgraded to V3. Very useful and powerful app. Support was fast and helpful when I couldn't figure out how to boot from the DVD. Support person was responsive when i suggested the documentation explaining this action could be improved.
    Defrag and repair has improved drive performance. Worth the $$.

    Excellent product, good service with some holes.

    TechTools gave me a hard drive error of bad blocks on my MacBook Pro. Tried to fix with TechTools, but no go. Tried to SuperDuper a clone to protect myself before exchanging drives, but SuperDuper hung (first time I had a problem with that great program. Later contacted them, and got nothing but sarcasm, sadly.) Managed to clone with the updated Chronosync (also a great backup program), then got Drive Genius and Data Rescue from ProSoft. Used all their repair programs, and voila! saved thousands of my lost photos from the bad blocks. Re-cloned, this time successfully with SuperDuper, exchanged HDs, restored my clone to the new HD, and all is well. Now using Drive Genius instead of TechTools mostly.

    Had some issues while overseas with Drive Genius ProPulse telling me my HD was bad (files and volumes) pretty much every week, usually due to a mismatch of volumes and files of only one or two of each, not really worth bothering with the thumb drive, rebooting, etc. Got quick service on a new build (free download), and no worries since. But several of my smaller questions remain unanswered. Maybe I'm a pest, maybe they're busy with more important stuff. Hard to say.

    Either way, darn good product and worth every penny. As for complexity, I think its more due to confusing instructions on their website for simple things (like how to create a thumb drive in my case), some folks not wanting to take the time to learn the basics, and not having a policy to answer every single query within a contact, even when they seem simple. In general, being a very picky person regarding support, I give their support a good, not an excellent, but the program rates super.

    Solves disk problems easily, with wonderful support

    Macs don't require much system management, but I seem to have friends who attract problems, and I fall into the occasional open manhole myself. I have a number of Mac systems that I keep running, and I need a reliable tool for fixing the occasional disk problem, cleaning up the system I've been using forever, and reconfiguring things when I upgrade something. Drive Genius 3 does everything I need with respect to disks and disk problems. I particularly appreciate the ability to repartition drives without erasing them, a capability that the previous tools I've owned have not provided.

    The product is straight-forward to use, though it has a few quirks which keep me from giving it 5 stars. For example, when running an "off line" operation such as disk defragmenting of the system volume, the interface is very minimal. It gives an indication of its progress percentage, and you can stop it, but you cannot do anything else, and there's no estimate of the remaining time to complete the process.

    I needed some help with Drive Genius when the DVD I had for some time wouldn't boot on my newly-purchased system. I had also misunderstood a message that appeared on the screen, and thought I could not do something that the product in fact does. I called customer support, and had a wonderful experience. The tech understood immediately what my problem was, explained clearly what I had not understood, and provided me with the download I needed to create a disk that boots on my new system. Further, he checked back with me a couple of times by email, to make sure I was good to go. I was, and I was delighted with the personal, knowledgeable, and attentive service. The service is five-star: the best I've gotten from any software vendor!

    The DrivePulse feature is a great. This feature alone makes DriveGenius a worthwhile addition to most OS X systems. Hopefully there will be an updated version of DrivePaulse which will offer more control in the future.

    The software UI for DriveGenius is well thought out and the technical support is prompt, should you have any questions.

    This is a tool which should be in your technical support team's arsenal!

    Handy Product, Great Tech Support

    I recently upgraded to Drive Genius 3 and find it to be a very good product, although it could be tweaked to better inform the user of what is, or what is not, happening at times. I had to contact their Tech Support on two occasions for guidance and consistently found the Support staff responses to be timely, personal and effective in resolving the issues I had.

    Great Utilities Program

    Great utility program for Mac computers. Even though it is limited when you run it in the Mac OS X 10.6, it still performed flawless. However, when you boot from the DVD itself, you do have full functions of the program. After running the utilities, my mac has never run better.

    The only down side is you need to have a wired keyboard and / or mouse hooked the iMac to be able to use the program if you boot from the DVD.
