    Static all the time!

    • Written by from Upland

I have tried using two different types of Griffin iTrip products and neither work well! I can hear the music for a short time but then the static goes in and out. Plus if my iPod isn't in the positioned in the right part of my car I just hear the normal music coming from the radio. Not worth the money!

Great in the Middle of Nowhere

    • Written by from Verona

If you live anywhere near a major metro area, forget it. Even the slightest radio signal will step right over this piece of trash. On top of that, it doesn't really fit into cigarette lighters well; you have to tweak it just right. Basically, this is just an extremely expensive and not very good charger. Maybe if you're in the middle of nowhere, this might work. Otherwise, don't waste your money.

    EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

    • Written by from Tinley Park

I replaced my iTrip that lasted 3 years with this product. The connectivity was poor and inconsistent. When scanning for a new radio frequency, it would select the existing frequency that was not working.

The ITrip only lasted 6 months. The wires connecting the ITrip to my IPOD were loose and pulled free. It stopped working a week after that happened.

I feel cheated by this product and am surprised that Apple would promote such an inferior product.

    doesn't really work in/near a city

    • Written by from Seattle

This product uses the FCC-regulated FM band to broadcast your iPod/iPhone/iPad sound output to your car radio. However, it has insufficient broadcast strength to overcome the FM airwave clutter in a major city. Perhaps it would work in rural areas, but in Seattle it was not able to find any clear slice of the FM band to work without a lot of static or cutouts.

    Buy a different product!

    • Written by from New Orleans

    Do not buy this product.

-The viewing screen for finding available stations is not readable. You have to use the app.
-Available stations changed constantly. See above problem.
-After 6 months of use, the connection between the cord & the iPhone began to fail.

    Do Not Buy This

I have had the Griffin iTrip Auto for yeas with my iPod classic and it works phenomenally; for the iPhone however it is no good, the signal quality is terrible. Even with the new "scan for best station" feature it selects stations that aren't dead. All in all I am extremely disappointed with the product. The quality standards at Griffin have fallen through the floor.

    Don't bother

    • Written by from Bellevue

Bought one of these items from a box store and like all the others, except for "Great Product", found it to be a dud. When I returned it to the store was told by the young man that they don't work well on this side of the mountains. Duh!. Since we only do road trips once a year, a bit useless.

    Not worth the price

    • Written by from Mishawaka

Range is incredibly limited and had difficulty reaching car antenna 4 foot away. Sound includes a high degree of static. Lowest frequency it can transmit on is 88.1. The bulky old Belkin model is much better. I would not recommend purchasing this product and have returned the one that I purchased.

    Don't waste your money!

    This item is completely unusable.
It's impossible listen to your music because there are a lot of interferences. It's unable to find a free frequency correctly.
It cost a lot but it doesn't work as you expect.

    Don´t buy this product.

    • Written by from Buenos aires

Pros: charges the iphone (your own cable) / mono or stereo broadcast fot ipod / voice over radio for hands free on phone calls.

Cons: none of them works fine, the reception is always noisy, and smart scan doesnt help much... (not many dials are free) i would love to get my money back...

1 star cuz doesn´t let me put less...

Piece of $#!+. A big waste of money

    • Written by from Dallas

It doesn't get loud enough. Lots Static. If the volume would increase louder I might like it. A big rip-off for $60. I want my money back. They should improve this product or remove this product from shelves. How is it that this product is allowed to be sold? I feel like I was robbed.

Terrible when you want it most--Long car trips!

    • Written by from Lafayette

This would be so much better if there just wasn't so much interference. When driving long distances, it's a constant struggle to find an open channel, and quite dangerous while driving... If you're in town, it's great!

    Better than nothing...maybe

    • Written by from Manlius

Better than nothing I guess but not by much. Pretty expensive piece of trash. I should have returned it right from the beginning but I thought I would play with it for a while...maybe it was me etc. Nope! This thing is lousy and I am sorry I wasted the money on it.

    Does not work

    • Written by from Weston

Received this product Friday and sending it back on Monday. This is an expensive product to do a simple thing and it does not work - much worse than the older versions I have had. Why does Apple keep selling this product through their site? Why does Griffin keep making it?

    Does not work!

    • Written by from Brooklyn

After 10 minutes of trying to get this product to work, i was able to get a few faint signals which didn't last very long and sounded horrible with static. The iTrip is going right in the trash. What a disappointment!

    Eh, not the best.

    • Written by

Yes, the reason I bought my car (2002 Buick Regal) was because the stereo system that came out of the factory was AMAZING. The only thing I never liked about it was the lack of an auxiliary jack. My husband suggested we bring his iTrip when we traveled so he could sleep (and not worry about changing CDs). Boooooo on both counts! I literally have to hold the iPod in one hand so the cord doesn't drag on anything and create distortion. You know how tiring that is, driving with one hand? On top of that, the sound quality kind of blows - I normally listen to music at about a quarter turn on the volume dial, and with the iTrip, I have to turn it up to three-quarters. Also no bass, all treble, and the vocals are always tinny.

    Way too overpriced

    • Written by from Littleton

I was very skeptical buying this product, and of course didn't look online before going to the apple store. Sales-guy recommended it and said he even "uses it himself." 80 dollars later, I hooked it up to my car and was instantly disappointed. Wouldn't find dead channels and the app was just as useless as the product. Broadcasting is very fuzzy, rarely holds the signal, and doesn't do a good job of finding available channels.

The built in controls on the transmitter are nice, help access your iPhone a couple seconds faster for changing songs, but the other defects greatly overshadow this one positive aspect.

Save your money, buy a new deck for your car, and party on

    Garbage

    • Written by from Cordova

It is sooooo quiet. I can barely hear the music, even with the stereo turned all the way up . Even on a totally broadcast free station, you still get static under the music. my car has a pretty decent bose sound system. so its not a cars fault....
