This is what I'm talking about. This is a product that is actually worth $100. After unpacking and filling this thing up with all my stuff... (MacBook Pro, Avid Mbox 2 Pro, etc...) it holds up and looks great doing it. So far no problems and is impressive right out of the gate.

Quality build, but terrible ease of use.

If I had to rate this backpack on the quality of the material, it would probably be a five, but whoever designed this backpack did not even consider ease of use. First of all, the backpack is very small, and the small pocket to protect your fragile items sticks way into the main compartment of the backpack. Over time this nuisance gets more and more noticeable, when you are trying to quickly reach in and get something. Also, the water bottle holders on the sides are awful. Your water bottle will not stay in without a carabiner. Another fault I see in this backpack, is the fact that there is no strap for the laptop sleeve, so if your backpack falls upside down, your laptop is going to take the full impact. All and all, this backpack has its good and bad qualities, but I feel like the bad's outweigh the good's for this backpack. For a $100 backpack, you can get a ton more bang for your buck.

I really liked the Bag when I first saw it at the iStore.

Really felt sturdy and it has a very durable Construction. I have a 15" MacBook Pro and an iPad along with other Mac Accessories which I carry daily to Work.

    Would highly recommend this Bag!!

    This bag is fabulous!
    Pros:
    - It fits my new 17" MBP and its accessories perfectly without being excessively bulky or heavy.
    - Pockets / storage areas are very useable and well thought out.
    - Comfortable to wear as a backpack.
    - Sturdy storage compartment for glasses and iPhone is great idea!
    - Its extremely well made.

    Cons:
    - I would like to see a tad more protection (padding) on the bottom of the computer sleeve (but I'm still confident the MBP is safe enough).

After having a TUMI for my last Macbook, I questioned this bag... Now I prefer this Thule MUCH more than the TUMI.

This pack has a closed cell foam lined sleeve that fits my 17 inch MBP perfectly. In addition there is room for my paperwork as well as all of my accessories, including my Bose headphones. This pack is very well constructed and I like the fact that it doesn't look like a computer case. Highly recommended.

    Attractive, comfortable, apparently durable backpack!

I have been using the Thule Crossover backpack for about two months now, and I am absolutely thrilled with the investment. Prior to the Thule, I'd used various briefcase-style cases, and the switch has been well worth it. My 17" MBP slides perfectly and quickly into the cushioned compartment and is a pleasure to tote around town. Even fully loaded, with the MBP, several books and all the fixings, the pack is comfortable for all-day wear, and looks sharp all the while.

While I don't know that the "crush proof" compartment is worthy of such a lofty title, it's certainly burly, and establishes its utility when used to store glasses, an ipod, fruit, and/or whatever you want to be sure to have easy access to.

The only trouble I've had so far is figuring out what to do with the power cable. There is not a great on board solution for this, but I get by with the cord in the smallest front pocket. A downside, but certainly offset by the bag's overall utility and construction.

I can't say enough about this bag. It's so comfortable, sharp, and easy to take along that I try to find excuses to take my MBP out on the town just to wear it. Seriously.

One of the best small backpacks you will find

This backpack works great for carrying your laptop! It has an internal dividing compartment so you can also store your iPad or e-reader inside, protected and separate from your laptop. The crush-proof SafeZone held two pairs of sunglasses and my phone at the same time, and you can take out the internal rigid container if you want to just use more space inside the backpack and fore-go the SafeZone feature. The exterior pockets are useful for smaller items like cables, pens, etc. This backpack is only 20 liters though, keep this in mind because it will feel small on you compared to your giant school backpack, but it is more than capable as a laptop backpack or aircraft carry-on. The finish on the backpack beads water off nicely, I used it on the beach and sand and water weren't a problem. Classic Thule quality, I can't believe they will guarantee their stuff for 25 years!

    Great backpack for travel....

I was looking for a backpack for my MBP 15" to travel on airplanes and to carry around when exploring metropolitan cities. I already owned a standard laptop bag but felt a backpack would better suit my needs. I went to the Apple Store to compare this model and the Hurley Manzana. Both are quality bags but what won me over was the heat-molded, crush proof compartment on the Thule Crossover. The compartment is great for sunglasses, iPod, or iPhones plus it can be removed for extra room. Consider it a "safe zone" for any of your fragile items. Now I have a place to store my shades (other than on top of my head) without the fear of crushing them. Another advantage of the Crossover is its water resistant fabric. I was in New York City last month with the threat of rain looming overhead. Having this backpack at the time would have put my mind at ease.

    Other great features:
-Lots of room, compartments, and pockets to organize your things
-Lightweight, durable fabric that is water resistant
    -Easy, quick access to laptop
    -Crush-proof compartment is also lockable
-Convenient side pockets for water bottles, etc.

I've had the Incase Messenger Backpack before, and liked that. But once I saw this backpack I thought it was dope, bought it and everyday I like it more and more. Very functional, very visually pleasing.

This backpack is all around great. It is very protective for both a computer and an ipod/sunglasses. It is also sleek, comfortable, and stylish. The only downside is it is slightly smaller than I expected, and is a little pricey. Overall, its an amazing backpack though.

Bag is perfect for everyday use. I'm an art major and I always had trouble with backpacks' durability when using them in a studio and this bag is very well crafted and can handle being mistreatment. I would highly recommend this product.

Started using this backpack back in August and so far the backpack has been fantastic! Plenty of room for my Macbook Pro, 2 textbooks, paper and supplies. Perfect for any student looking to carry their notebook. I also ride my bike to school everyday and the backpack doesn't bother me at all.
    Two thumbs up!

    PRO's
    - Mac like build quality
    - Crush proof Safe Zone
    - You can clean your sun glasses/ iPhone screen with the material in Safe Zone
    - Side straps prevents open flap to 'dangle',
    - Easy access to laptop
    - When you bend down, with straight legs, the bag does not come sliding down to the back of your head.

    CONS
    - Would prefer hard cushioning (like the safe zone) at the bottom where the laptop is.
    - 20l is a bit tight.
    - If Safe Zone is full (phone, Hard Drive etc) it kind off gets in the way, nothing major.

    Doesn't Get Better Than This

I've searched long and hard for a pack that holds my 17" laptop, yet gives me space to add. Before the Thule, my options required sacrificing space, features or quality. Not anymore! The Thule Crossover is the best of 20 bags I've seen. Numerous compartments, quality zippers, snug fit on the laptop, sturdy backpack straps and compression straps to hold it all together. All I can say is, "WOW!" To boot, it must be an optical illusion, but the bag just doesn't look that big--weighs in at welter, but fights like a heavyweight champ. I kept adding item after item...laptop, sunglasses, ipod, wallet, keys, pens, pencils, 1" binder, 250 notecards w/ box, hardcover reference book, paperback book, mBox, Maxtor external HD, laptop charger, phone charger, water bottle...and it all fit. It was heavy, but then again, there were TWO HANDLES which made it easy to lift. Frankly speaking, it just doesn't get any better than this.

When I was in 3rd grade was the last time I bought a backpack. My dad won a really nice bag so I used it from 3rd grade to my senior year of high school. During my senior year I had to cary so many books and my bag ripped but I still used it till I graduated. Now I need a bag to last me from my freshman year of college and then on. So I knew it was a good idea not to get a cheap bag and look for something that would last for a long time. I saw this bag and knew right then this was the bag to get, and I was so right about this bag. This bag is so much more sturdy then the bag I had so I knew right then this would last longer. I took this to my USF college orientation it started raining and its Florida rain and not one rain drop made it in my bag not one. I cant recommend this bag enough its definitely going to last me a long time.

Very high quality and fairly light. The sunglasses and iphone/ipod area is a nice touch. Build quality is excellent, no need to regurgitate other people's reviews.

One thing is the water bottle area won't hold a Kleen Kanteen as pictured in the description. Maybe something larger...

Great Design & Quality, but don't like straps

The bag is attractive and lightweight (as promised), but I was really disappointed with the straps. They were thin, hard, and uncomfortable on my shoulders. I would have liked to see more padding in that area.
