    • Written by from DEWSBURY

as a very unknowlegeable user i find this programme absolute garbage. It says on the box it will accept AVI files but every avi file i have tried loading it tells me it wont and then points me to a website that is supposed to help unkowledgeable me but instead presents me with an endless list of choices for which i have no background information to help me choose. spent 30 quid and ended up bininng it, avoid at all costs unless you have a good idea what youre doing.

    Absolutely rubbish

    • Written by from Worcester

On a Win PC don't bother with QT7. I'm continually told to install QT7 even though I have done so.. several times! I've been through all config and set-up and still my system doesn't recognise I have the software installed. Rubbish.

    Waste of money.

    • Written by from excelsior

I purchased QT7 and I can't believe that something that is supposed to help is so horrible. Nothing but problems getting it installed. I got so frustrated I gave up. While I was burning a DVD with Nero software I purchased awhile back I found it is set up to convert windows media to MPEG-4 with no hassle. Wish I would have know before I wasted my money.

    This is a ripoff

I paid $30.00 for Quicktime Pro. It worked OK for a few weeks until it crashed and would not let me use Itunes. Itunes told me to reinstall Quicktime. Now Quicktime Pro is gone along with my $30.00.

    The Quicktime Question Mark

    • Written by from Alton

I purchased the Pro version of Quicktime and now I wonder why I did. Nearly every website I visit that has videos refuses to accept Quicktime. Instead, I get a question mark displayed over the Quicktime logo. I am running the latest Pro version on an iMac G5 with the latest update. I have no trouble with Realplayer or MS Media Player. Save your money and future frustration. Take the free players.

    Bad product

    • Written by from Pine Valley

Wow, do I feel suckered, I upgraded to Pro thinking it would allow me to edit MOV files, boy was I wrong. This is the most inferior product I've ever purchased, it does practically nothing, even trimming a video is a major pain, but try to add titles or any effect and your in for a trial of frustration. I've tried at least a dozen times to add a title to one video and no matter what I do, it won't be there after the file is saved. Oh it will play in Quicktime but NOT in any other program including YouTube. Don't east your money.

    Very deceiving!

    • Written by from Montreal

Wow! Quick Time is the least user friendly sofware I've ever tried to put some movies together with some text. I bought the pro version because my friend saved all our videos in QT format on his camera. Next time, it crtainly will not be that format. It has nothing in common woth other softwares of that type so you have to read all the instructions to understand how it works. Much time wasted.

    Sucks

    • Written by from Aylesbury

Why does this software not do what is advertised for PC users. I cannot convert uncompressed or PAL AVI without a buffer over run and then the software crashing. I purchased this software for a critical job. Unfortunately the video production folk I'm dealing with are MAC only & need the files to be converted to MOV. I am now totally scuppered. The gap ever widens....

    Excellent and lightweight tool

    • Written by from New Hyde Park

Quicktime Pro is a great little tool and is incredibly useful for little editing tasks and video conversion. It is not hard to get a lot out of it with a little research. If you are converting video from one format to another you might just need to read up on codecs (its not as complicated as it sounds). There is not a fancy interface and it may require you to use your brain just a little, but someone of even average intelligence should have no trouble making simple edits and exporting to an appropriate format. I have used free editing software and software/hardware editing suites costing as much as a small car - Quicktime Pro is THE editing tool I would choose if I could only have one.

DON'T BUY FOR XP: DOESN'T WORK

    • Written by from Skippack

Every version of QuickTime Pro I have used generates a buffer overrun when I attempt to export. This is an OLD error that I have reported to Apple 1001 times over YEARS. It happens on every computer I own. The current version also won't PLAY any MOVs I create with my Kodak or Nikon digital cameras. It actually blue screens XP. Total crash and burn. JUNK.

Doesn't convert AVIs (at least not in Windows 7)

    • Written by from Hollywood

I bought this in order to be able to be able to show movies of my son on my Apple TV. Had already used a free trial of "PQ Apple TV Video Converter" which worked OK, but not great (bit jerky). Thought if anyone could do it right, it would be Apple itself.

I was wrong. Quicktime Pro wouldn't even open the AVI, and trying to export it to Apple TV was an exercise in futility. After an hour of trying different things I gave up.

The problem with Apple is that they figure everyone eventually will completely convert to all Apple products, so who cares if their stuff is genuinely compatible with other software. Very arrogant attitude. Maybe it's my fault for believing what they wrote on their webpage.

You have to know what extra files to download

    • Written by

I have read many reviews saying this program doesn't work-1st you have to go in & set up the files you want to use with it + there are new types of files being written all the time in that case you have to search the net & locate a download for that type of file, e.g., icm.xvid, didn't work until I downloaded the file it needed & then it worked fine. But it was the same way with all the other programs-as programmers write in new code new downloads have to be found that will play those new files. Mine works fine, I just had to figure it out & I'm no programmer. It works fine on XP.

    Quicktime Pro 7

    • Written by from Enfield

Its an ok product, in the past you've had some quicktime features I liked, like on one of them there was tv area, which was cool, it would be really cool since you have the quality I like, if you could come up with TV over the internet, or streaming video. Not just trailers, but actual shows people could watch. The last time I used an apple computer was back when you had the Apple 2GS computers, and I found them really awsome..since then you've improved alot, but why can't you make video look like the theater movies, in a regular movie that a person makes the pictures are all grainy and blur when the person moves, but when a theater company makes a movie, on the screen the picture is perfect, why can't you use that same technology to come up with a crystal clear product? I currenly own a Windows Xp, computer, but if I had the money I would certainly consider buying an apple Laptop, mainly because I see the quality in it, regardless of who makes the chips in it, Apple spends a lot of time on the "quality" of the product, and not how many they can put out... which I really like. I look forward to the future, of technology, and hope that these things will come down in the future to make it affordable to everyone. Thannks...

I bought this to convert a sequence of jpg images into a video file using the "Open image sequence" command. It just doesn't do anything. I can select the file and then NOTHING. Searched all over for answers, couldn't find any. Complete waste of $30.
