    Does not read my files

    • Written by from Iowa City

I was told that QT Pro was a great tool on the Win PC but... When I tried QTPro to open files from my DV Camcorder I got the message "is not a movie file!"
When I double click on the files they launch into Windows Media player.
I had to spend another $40 on "AVS Video Converter" in order to resave the file in a way QT Pro could even open.

Guess I do not understand Apples definition of "Pro"

    The Quicktime Question Mark

    • Written by from Alton

I purchased the Pro version of Quicktime and now I wonder why I did. Nearly every website I visit that has videos refuses to accept Quicktime. Instead, I get a question mark displayed over the Quicktime logo. I am running the latest Pro version on an iMac G5 with the latest update. I have no trouble with Realplayer or MS Media Player. Save your money and future frustration. Take the free players.

    quick time NO!

    • Written by from Merrimack

Apple prides itself on having the best products, and software. Well maybe make this program only for apple users because it was horrible with my HP. Easy to use, but made everything look horrible and all around was just very dissapointing.

    Quick time Pro

    • Written by from Potomac

I have found this product extremely frustrating for its use in the PC plataform. It does not deliver what it promises. Maybe in the Mac is better. I have a iMac but I do not find QuickTime any better though.
It is unecessary to purchase such an expensive product to get so little for your money.

    Quicktime Pro What a rip-off

    • Written by from national city

I purchased this product because i have videos that need to be rotate, however once you rotate the video,
it plays soo Bad that certain images dissapear completly from the screen.
i had to shrunk the video size in order to be able to view the clip.
also it promised soo much, however once you need to use the other features,( B A M ) you need to buy additional software to use those features.
so my advice is save your money & next time when recording, do it the right position.
    Sorry QuickTime Pro.

Download Windows Movie Maker instead - it's free and has significantly more functionality. I had a full edited movie with sound in minutes. Quicktime 7 Pro deserves zero stars is a huge disappointment and I really regret spending the $29.99. Apple should stick to music.

    Quick Time Sucks

    • Written by from Edm

no one to contact,no support, pages are always unavailable, contact us buttons are useless, page unavailable Lets start off by informing you that I have been using Windows Media Player for years, and have many playlists both audio, and video. Then I bought 3ipods,2-30GBs,and 1-nano, so I downloaded iTunes, and with it comes QUICK TIME,this is where the problems start, Quick Time took over all media files I can't even access Media Player now everything I try to open come up in Quick Time player from itunes, well this free player just doesn't have the quality,or the features that Windows Media Player has, in fact Quick Time is by far an inferior player that just doesn't suit my needs, I can't even find a way to temporarily disable QT player, so I can use WMP for files I've had for years,so now its this big game of installing then uninstalling. It's like some tyrant dictator has taken away all my choices, and forcing me to use an inferior product. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM ??? Do I have to buy QT Pro, I don't think so, am having nothing but grief with the one I already have, as for the ipods well if this problem can not be solved into the garbage they go.
    Thank You

Only giving 1 star as I cannot give less

    • Written by from Aliso Viejo

I am giving this only 1 star as the web page doesn't allow me to leave the star rating unchecked. The product does not compare to Win Movie Maker. QT Pro is not user friendly at all. The instructions are very basic and seemingly straightforward but they may be a bit too basic... leaving lots of questions and loose ends. As the program is not user-friendly, it's pretty much impossible to find out yourself how to work it.
When following instructions word by word (trying to enter text to multiple frames), I would end up with either a black line across the top of the video, a white line at the bottom of the video or both. No text in sight.

Spend the money to convert files to a format Win Movie Maker understands... that is what I should have done.

QuickTime 7 Pro - import frame rates

    • Written by from Racine

I was very disappointed to see that the frame rate option when importing an image sequence was limited to 29.9 fps.
What happened to the choice of 15 fps, 10 fps or 8 fps?

this is the main reason I purchased this upgrade. I hope I'm just missing something and the options are still there???

    very disappointed

    Big Mistake

    • Written by from Fairport

Well, more like a $30 mistake. Despite many poor reviews (and some good ones) I thought I'd give QT Pro a try. Boy, was I wrong. I found out that the two little asterisks next to MPEG-2 I didn't notice that say you need a $20 plug-in for MPEG-2 playback also means "you cannot import these files". Thanks for telling me that. That is the format that my Sony Camcorder puts out. OK, so maybe I'll cough up another $20 for the add-on, but wait! Searching the reviews I find out that only MPEG-2 VIDEO, not the accompanying audio is supported (also buried in the Apple fine print). So, I find a shareware MPG to MOV converter (converted quality was fair, not great), and discover that the QT Pro editing and titling tools stink. The only good that came out of this was my $30 donation to Apple to fight the evil empire of Microsoft. This software is practically useless, and the warnings of its shortcomings are not explicit enough.

    New Can't Use Garbage

    • Written by

Buy me or look at me, but don't think we'll give you any opportunity to try me out. "For only $29.95, you will be able to . . ." So much hype, for what? Any option to try it out and find how unuseable this is for the average Joe? No way! That would hurt our sales!!
Now forever on the screen will be these unuseable (who cares, except for the appearance) lines of action that will only screw up the actual working of the system. Don't say no way 'cause you know it's the way, always: new programming, new errors, new headaches for the users.
Any choice for the users? Well there should be. But there's no way to use the old version 'cause there's no way to access it now that the "new version" is installed -- even though the new version is not installed as yet, merely sitting there waiting to be paid for by the chump. Marketing, marketing.
Oh, and by the way, I couldn't even give you 1/2 a star, 'cause it was one star or nothing, and even nothing wasn't accepted. So in this case you deserve negative five. Add (subtract)that to (from) your average. Gee, I doubt that that will end up being the case.

    Beware

    • Written by from Indian Orchard

I'm going to QuickTime this and my $29.95 right to the trash bin. Converted to MPEG-4 and the image quality went right out the door. After stitching 3 files together I could not get the QuickTime file .mov to burn to a DVD. I find this to be a useless application for my needs. I should have heeded others reviews.

    Agree with KS from silkeborg

    • Written by from Knoxville

I also only paid for Quicktime Pro so that I could edit my video files. I bought a new digital camera and to my surprise the video files are only compatible with Quicktime. I was used to using Windows Media files and editing them with Windows Movie Maker, but I can't do that with this new camera. I wish I could take the camera back and get one that records WMV or MPEG videos. I can't figure out how to get Quicktime 7 Pro to edit videos. Can't say what I would like to due to the "Terms and Conditions," but I will say that I do not recommend purchasing this IF you plan to use it in the same manner as Windows Movie Maker.

I`m a pc user and I`m use to work with windows moviemaker. I only bought quicktimepro because moviemaker can`t/won`t handle quicktime files. Here`s my experience after 6 hours:

    :) installation, no problems.(5 min)
:/ make sure your computer has alot of RAM. LOT`S OF RAM.
:( If you like to work with moviemaker don`t never ever think about starting using quicktimepro. It use lot`s of ram to work. It`s not logic compared to moviemaker, and it`s S L O W...ZZzzz...

I wish I could get my money back. Now I will try to find a program that can konverte quicktime files to wmv.

    ripoff!

    • Written by from north brunswick

I bought quicktime pro for the "Full screen" control feature. When I used "Full screen" the entire picture became blurry! I bought Quicktime Pro so I could show movies(taken with my cell phone) for a court case! Now I can't show the movies with "Full Screen" because everything is blurred out! What a waste of money. When pictures are brought to full screen, the clarity should be the same as the smaller picture.
