Only giving 1 star as I cannot give less

    • Written by from Aliso Viejo

I am giving this only 1 star as the web page doesn't allow me to leave the star rating unchecked. The product does not compare to Win Movie Maker. QT Pro is not user friendly at all. The instructions are very basic and seemingly straightforward but they may be a bit too basic... leaving lots of questions and loose ends. As the program is not user-friendly, it's pretty much impossible to find out yourself how to work it.
When following instructions word by word (trying to enter text to multiple frames), I would end up with either a black line across the top of the video, a white line at the bottom of the video or both. No text in sight.

Spend the money to convert files to a format Win Movie Maker understands... that is what I should have done.

Apple Fails Big Time with QT Pro 7

    • Written by from New York

Bought QTPro and the mpeg2 addin.

Comments: Need to make videos of bands I work with. As I have a PC, QTPro7 won't let me capture Mini-DV to .mov in one step. Second, converting avi files to MP4, mov takes way too long.... so long it's not practical to think of making a conversion with QTPro - unless I do it overnight. Finally, email video share only works with macs as well. These disasters should be mentioned upfront to the public before they waste their money on QT Pro Software.

Why are you charging MONEY for this?

    • Written by from Boerne

I can't believe you are charging customers 30 bucks for this player! I bought this for the "full screen" playback feature, and I have to tell you I've NEVER been more disappointed. The video is jerky and the sound is too compressed and sounds "phase-y!" I've been using both Windows Media Player and Winamp in years past, and I've never had such poor playback on either compared to your PRO player! No "pro" I know would ever settle for such poor poor quality! So much shame on you!

QuickTime 7 Pro - import frame rates

    • Written by from Racine

I was very disappointed to see that the frame rate option when importing an image sequence was limited to 29.9 fps.
What happened to the choice of 15 fps, 10 fps or 8 fps?

this is the main reason I purchased this upgrade. I hope I'm just missing something and the options are still there???

    very disappointed

    ITunes & QT Pro

    • Written by

I build my PC with Win Vista Ultimate. After installing ITunes my Win Experience index downgraded from a 5.1 to 4.0. ITunes is crashing/freezing (Not often with out QT Pro. I believe software geeks output is good, but it's not properly tested before distribution due to the high demamd of cyberg electronic. So if you are not a Pro don get it. It does work but is not friendly!

    This is garbage

    • Written by from Brooklyn

Quicktime 7 Pro for Windows is garbage. It doesn't work. I never had a problem with Quicktime player, but the upgrade does not work at all. It tells me that I have Quicktime Pro installed, but there is no way of accessing it. My computer works well otherwise, and it far exceeds the minimum specifictions for the program. And tech support? Forget about it. Once they have your money, they don't give a ____. $30 bleeping THROWN OUT. Please be warned!!!! Zero stars.

    Horrible Results with Quicktime Pro!

    • Written by from Whites Creek

It has been a nightmare to try to install Quicktime Pro. Now that I did, it won't work, or works intermittently! All I see are green lines. For a few seconds I saw the movie, then green lines again. I work putting music to videos - I can't believe the shoddy support and unreliability of this product! Now I have to uninstall and re-install again, and if that doesn't work, go back to quicktime 6, which has no support. The tech guy didn't know what it was! It won't let me give a zero rating , so I gave it one star. This stuff is supposed to be easy! Buyer Beware! Ron

Works Just Like it says it does

    • Written by from barboursville

I am not sure why so many people wrote bad reviews about this product,, because it works just fine, on Windows XP.

you have to follow the directions and make sure you are using 7 player (brand new download), and if you follow the directions it works perfectly.

In less than 45 minutes i had it in loaded and had put 6 clips togather to make a movie of my daughter. I have hours of little clips i can now put them all togather to make complete movies.

thank you apple, i think this is wonderful

and to anyone who can't get it to work, i think your machines have a under lying problem you need to address to get this to work the way it is meant to.

i will recommend this to everyone i know,,

IF YOUR NOT A PRO, THEN DONT BUY!!!!

    • Written by from Pompano Beach

It seems most of the complaints are do to amatuers trying to use a pro product. If you dont understand video codecs and encoding then dont buy. You cant expect to get HD video by converting your cell phone videos or .WMVs, It just doent work. You cant add data to the file, you can only compress. Its like taking a small low resolution .jpeg and blowing it up, see all the pixels.
I know how to use QTP and it works everytime, all the time. For $30 its a steal.

QT Pro is a good deal

    • Written by

I bothered to make an account to relate that QT Pro is a darn good buy. It isn't for pirating software or making illegal copies - contact the Cult of the Dead Cow for that stuff.

I needed it to convert, reliably, some cell phone and other formats to 'standard' files. For $30, this is *so* much better than Prism or some of the other flaky shareware programs that cost upwards of $70 or more to unlock.

It is really nice clicking on an export and knowing that a readable file will be spit out. Go with the pros.

Although somewhat slow in exporting, QuickTime Pro is an amazing application and, for the price, it's incredibly powerful. It does exactly what I thought it would do. I don't understand why others are having problems... hmm...

This product works perfect, maybe a little on the slow side but overall it's great. As for the people who have had so many problems, they are probably a little challenged. Read the instructions and follow them!

    QuickTime 7 Pro for Windows

    • Written by from Warminster

DON'T BUY IT!! Alls I wanted to do was convert my *.3g2 files from my cell phone to .mpg and .avi files, which this product does. But the quality if AWEFUL!! I can barely make out the faces of my kids on the exported files. What a waste, I wish I would have taken the advice of all the other unhappy people. This turns me off to Apple big time.

    Nothing but hassle

    • Written by from Langley

If apple is going to pretend that their products work straight out of the box, they might want to take another look at this one. It is slow, doesn't work properly, and wouldn't be worth half of what it costs even if it did. Typical apple: overpriced, underperforming and incompatible.
