    Cant rip DVDs

If you think I tunes pro will let you rip your dvd's so you can watch them on the road with an ipod, think again. You need an additional 20$ MPEG 2 decoder. What a rip off, they could have easily included that, H.264 is partly based off of MPEG-2. They are just sticking it too us is all.

Big fan. Haven't had a single issue with it, on any of our Macs at home OR on any of our 70+ Macs at work. Killer exports. Great with the iPod. Use it every day now. Quite the powerhouse.

    Rotten Apple

I never thought I will ever say this about a Apple product, despite all the warnings and bad reviews. But this is a poor package, doesn’t say what it says on the tin. Doesn't do what Aplle claims it to do. It’s useless other than viewing video clips. Says it can convert files into various formats. What it doesn’t mention is that most of those formats are Apple based products. I wasted my money. Should have listened to the other reviews!

I would prefer not to give it any star ratings, but the system doesn't allow you not to rate (no stars from me)

    QuickTime for Windows

Very dissapointed. Waste of money. This is my first venture into Apple software product. QuickTime Pro does not do what it claims. For example, if you want to clip a lenghty video the resulting video when played is in fact the desired shortened clip but the new file is no smaller than the original.

If there was a way to return the product and get my money back I would do it. But Apple has my money and I have no satifaction. No more Apple products for me.

    Worthless

Based on what I read about this product in the promotional sections, I assumed it would allow me to do some video editing. But it allows the user to basically do almost nothing. Had I known how worthless QT PRO was, I definitely wouldn't have wasted $29.99. I should have put the thirty bucks toward a decent video editing software. Lesson learned, I guess.

I purchased the pro version to be able to edit simple videos for youtube. It is amazingly easy to use once you read the directions.I just wish it had a fade to black filter.

    just junk for pc

I couldn't get QT Pro to work on my windows xp pro. It doesn't read .avi files (or it just didn't record right). It took almost an hour to convert the file and the output file was blank and there was no sound even though the timer was counting like it was playing a movie. To add insult to the whole thing I wasted $30 buying this junk.

Given Apple's ability to make easy to use products, this app for my XP machine takes the cake for obtuseness and well ceaseless advertising,,,it is supremely annoying...i wish i could give them back their product and save my money

    Complete Waste-I suggest not purchasing

I bought Pro to help make movies compatible with my iPod, and it did nothing of the sort. In fact, it wasn't any better than the regular, free Quick Time in any way. I sincerely regret having wasted $30 and they won't allow refunds or returns on it. I recommend that you seriously reconsider before purchasing this waste of software.

    Converting .MOV to MPEG4

The only reason I purchased QT Pro was to convert video files for my Palm Treo. This function produced very poor output. It was a waste of $30 and support was not available.

My system also went unstable after QT Pro installation.

Possibly the worst piece of software I've ever purchased. Crashes constantly. Interface completely unintuitive. Very limited functionality. Complete waste of $30 - I wish I'd believed the reviews.

    What is the use?

I purchased this for use on my home PC (Windows XP). It does not do much more than Windows Movie Maker. This product should be free to anyone who has an iPod, iPhone, etc., if Apple wants to really "lock" people into their hardware products. Very unsatisfied with the cost.

Don't know what everyone is complaining about...

After reading all the negative reviews I was reluctant to buy the upgrade,... after some thought and thinking it can't be that bad, I made the $30 plunge. I followed the directions and made my first m4v. All though it didn't put the movie on my desktop as the instructions claim, it did create it in the same directory that the originally movie was located. Then I opened iTunes and dropped the m4v on my iPod, it synced and then I watched the movie on my iPod with no problem. The picture and sound quality is great!

    Great for Editing HD Video

The user interface is somewhat sparse, but the underlying capabilities are impressive. I have used this program for several HD projects from my Panasonic Lumix. I could easily cut and paste segments into my videos, and edit and sync sound tracks. I haven't seen these capabilities elsewhere for the price. The program also provides many great options for exporting to other formats. I should give it another star to counter the low ratings from others, which I don't understand, but I won't. It is a solid product for the price.
