    converts to ipod movies perfectly

i read all of the negative reviews, but really needed/wanted to convert movies taken of my kids, on my phone, as i'm going overseas in 36 hours and needed to do it all ASAP. I was very concerned that i would spend the $30 and get a lemon, as per reviews.

However, i had absolutely no problems. Followed the instructions- made sure i had the correct version [7.5] by uninstalling whatever version i had previously. then followed prompts to register correctly.

Opened up the videos taken with my phone, chose "export" from the File Menu, then chose "movie to ipod". whole process took about 5minutes, including the initial purchase, uninstalling and reinstalling quicktime, and converting the movies.

don't know what all the hype is about. hope it stays working!

No worries exporting to AVI works well.

For the novice computer user, they may have difficulty exporting a .MOV file to .AVI. But for anyone who is familiar with a computer and can change a few default settings AVI can be created while still keeping the high quality content as seen in a Quicktime .MOV file. You just need to change your export options to BEST, which is zero compression, which equals zero degradation.

Ouicktime Pro on PC Works Great...!!

Ok, I'm running Quicktime Pro on a 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4 with a gig of memory, Ge-Force 6200OC 256 MB DDR, 80 gig system drive and a 160 gig RAID, 300 GB external fire wire drive. When I upgraded to OT 7, the free version I didn't have any sound or if I did, it sounded like a CD skipping. The system would also hang and I had to fire up Task Manager to quit it. I did some trouble shooting and found a problem with my Audigy Sound Card. I updated the drivers and reset the defaults and everything works as advertised. I think this is a great product and I have converted video from my Sony VX1000 and it plays smoothly on my iPod with no problems.

Very easy to use and affordable. Apple makes the best products for there customers. If you know how to use iTunes, you should be able to know how to use QuickTime Pro.

    Thanks again Apple!

A+ on AVI to MOV Conversion

    • Written by from Roswell

I purchased this product because I heard it was a very easy way to take large AVI files from a PC and convert them into smaller MOV files for playback and manipulation on a Mac. Windows Movie Maker can do AVI to WMV conversion, but does not offer QuickTime as an option for export. This product worked perfectly for what I needed. I can now produce large AVI files from a DV camera, convert them to MOV files and send them to my peers who work on Macs.

Also, there are some great encoding manipulation options.

However, I do not have any comment on how well this product converts MOV files to other file types such as AVI.

    QT Pro 7 Works great

I have had great luck with QT Pro 7, on my MacBook.
I remember the PC days, ,,,boy I will never go back!
Too many bugs and spy bots, ect,, slowing things down, I think that is half the problem with most of the PC users. You will first probably have to re-format your hard drive, you know,,,Re install your operating system.
That is why I switched to a Mac, every thing works better over here. Try it. For at least 1 year.
    You won't go back.

Quick Time 7 Pro for Windows

This product worked fantastic for us PC people trying to convert our avi files to Mpeg 4/AAC. I am now able to play and watch them on my i pod classic. I tranferred 4 fairly large Windows avi home movies/music videos to Quick time pro 7 and then to the i pod. They look great! Just the way I edited them on the PC. The process was long because of the large avi file size I had. The conversion to Quick time pro 7 and the conversion to i pod took about 30-40 minutes for a 6 minute movie piece. I would recommend printing out Chapter 3 pages 35-39 on your i pod classic Video Features how to guide. You can get it at apple.com. Thank you Quick time 7 pro.

    QUICK TIME PC PROBLEMS

    • Written by from Shelton

Hi, I have found QuickTime to be the only player that works for me. I use a dial up connection and QuickTime adj. for this and after forever I can hear the song I LINKED to completely without annoying buffer every 5 sec. Apple is intuitive but you need to utilize the knowledge base sites to fix problems. I know XP users like me should know there are problems with multiple applications of the same type and not just apple.
First you need to get QuickTime working for you OK. My problem was in an upgrade. You have to utilize Microsoft uninstaller download! Check it out as I have removed a lot have old downloads with this. Get it~ not the program but the file CPU kept to install it!
Get real! us PC users have been fighting problems like this before only now it is APPLE LOL.
I already read duplicate negs so the rating may reflect frustration.
I would after solving problems with QuickTime upgrade to pro. $30.00 what a bunch of losers. BUT it should have been included in the vid iPod, now that I have a decent notebook gig of ram for apps I might upgrade. Lets hope for continued continuity between Apple and Microsoft

I bought QT 7 Pro for one thing only- to convert AVI files from my video camera into Quicktime so I can put them online. The video quality is great and the files are nice and small. No complaints here. And it's a great value at $30!

I can't vouch for the ipod and DVD-related complaints since I didn't try those features and probably never will.

To all the people that write bad reviews...you think that you'd know what you're talking about before you bad mouth the program. Quicktime pro never said it could rip DVD's, but it will convert them to put on your iPod and I have had no problem doing that. Granted it does take a little longer than I would like but it does it masterfully!!!
