QUICK TIME 7 IS A PRFECT PRODUDT TO ME BECAUSE IS CLEAR EASY AND INTERESTING

The general discription of this product leads you to believe that it is professional software for that lets you do more with your media. It is just that, but it has A LOT of flaws. First, the interface and menus are so confusing that it makes it nearly impossible to get anything done. Also, in there are glitches in the software. In the movie properties menu, in visual settings, the whole transormation option is completely useless. When trying to change the offset or size, nothing happens, unless you click "preserve aspect ratio about 3 times. Then, when you exit the menu, your changes reset about every other time. The export menu is okay, but being able to only use 1 effect per movie is extremely lame. Also, the formats that you can convert to and from are not formats that people us or want to change in any way. The audio recorder gives me errors, so that is also useless. The only good feature is its ability to turn text into chapter marks. This software seems like is was quickly and sloppily ported to windows. Basically, if you own mac this software is great. If you don't own a mac, don't waste your time or money.

It's a wonderfull tool but should be something provided when you buy the new ipods that also play dvd/movies.

This is a hidden/extra cost to you when it should not be.

The price/cost of my wife's birthday present was actually $330.00 and not $300.00 because I had to buy QuickTime 7 Pro ($30.00) to be able to play movies on the Ipod.

After downloading I was unable to view any Quicktime movie trailers. Trouble-shooting got me no positive results. Sent e-mails to Apple Support and recieved no response. This was probably all an oversight and likely that some conflict in my XP based PC was the problem, Still waiting to hear from you Apple, you make great products , that is when you can get them to work?

I had QT 7 then upgraded to Pro, paying the price shown, but when activating it I had issues with it accepting my serial number.

QT Pro is good if you need to save files, which is not an option with the regular QT.....but, if you want the extras, you have to pay. If they want people to use Quicktime more than Windows Media, then they should stop charging people just so they can view a video. It's a scam just like all Internet stuff. They get you used to QT, then once you are comfortable with it, they start charging......GRRRR....doesn't Apple have enough money already? Good product, but watch out for the charges to get extra stuff...which comes standard on Windows Media Players.

First of all, $29 is really affordable for editing software, so that's a plus for Quicktime Pro, unfortunately I've had better video quality results with various freeware downloads.(They just didn't contain the amount of import/export formats as quicktime does)

A big issue for me is video quality, when I export a video to an image sequence (TGA, TIFF) the quality is sub-par. There are very limited options when exporting, and even with no compression turned on, the result is unacceptable.

Quicktime is great if you just want to export files to different formats, quickly cut and edit videos and image quality isn't a huge issue for you. However, there are free software products out there that have better results.

If you are getting this to convert some of your videos to iPod format, its really not that bad as long as you follow the directions they give you. but if your using this as a media player, its terrible. it lags and will freeze up your computer. (and this is a good comp im running it on) youd be better off going and downloading some cheap player you find off of google

I was close to not buying this because I read all of the negative reviews, but it worked fine for me.

There are definitely pros and cons to this program. It's not as great as Apple claims, but it does barely do what they claim is does.

Pros:

I found the instructions very easy to understand, and I had the whole setup process complete in under 10 minutes.

I only used the program to put videos on my iPod, and it worked like a charm. I only downloaded quicktime files, so I can't say how it worked for other formats, but for putting quicktime movie trailers on the iPod, it worked just fine.

Cons:

That being said, I must say that it is ridiculously over-priced and should have been included with the purchase of a $300 iPod in the first place. The only other problem is the speed to convert a song to the correct format to put it on the iPod. For a 2 minute movie trailer, it took about 5-10 minutes to convert the movie. If you were adding bigger files, plan on giving it plenty of time.

Overall, 3/5 stars for price and slowness, but it barely does what Apple claims it will do, so I'd say buy it if you want to get quicktime format movies on your video iPod.

For what I'm doing QT Pro 7 is ok. Giving 3 stars.
This is more of a amateur tool.
Not a Pro tool as one may imagine that it would be. It could be improved if Apple ever decides to do so.
Works good for me although It would be nice "in editing" if you could precisley remove the frame you want to remove from your movie.
If your looking for a product that is fine tuned and precise, keep looking...

its super hard to use and makes its slow. but when u get it down its really good but its not a $30 product.
