Quicktime 7.0 Pro is a terrific product. In fact, I have it on both my P.C. and my Mac Mini. I couldn't live without it. [Although I had to shell out for each, I still think it is worth it]

I use the export feature all the time to compress using the H.264 compression codec. If you are not sure how to do this, check out Macbreak.com -- there is a very good segment on exporting and compressing using Quicktime Pro 7.

The last point is when you view videos on the web through google there is an option to download video to a video ipod. Guess what the engine is for this? - - You guessed it - Quicktime.

Enough said.

the only reason why i bought pro, is because i thought that it would accept all movie files.. but IT DOESN'T!!!! You could probably only watch 70% of the movies that you want to dowload!!! NOT WORTH 30 dollars.. i feel ripped =( ..at least i can put my movies into full screen now..

In all, this is an excellent product which reflects Apple's personality. The reason for it's low raiting are because of complainers on these comments that say their QuickTime 6 Pro was wiped out with QT7.

Hello guys? What did you UPDATE for? Logic, folks: when you are installing QT7, it uses LOGIC to think: huumm, this user want's to UPGRADE. How in land sakes will the computer know you want to install it WITHOUT removing QT6 Pro.

However, I still agree at the lack of functionality with different video and audio formats, especially with the DVD format. Additionally, the price is just a little bit too high. Therefore, it gets four stars.

QuickTime Pro 7 is a great upgrade from the standard QuickTime. This was my first time to go Pro, & I highly recommend it. The $30.00 price is worth it.

The editing tools are great! They're great for quick projects when I don't want to mess with iMovie. While I'll always use iMovie for doing my pro work, QuickTime is perfect for simple editing.

It's so quick! The audio/video capabilities are easy to access & use.

I love also now being able to download QuickTime movies from the net. It's nice to be able to finally archive these movies!

I have used it on both Windows and Mac with no problems. Once you realize the breadth, depth, and scope of this product it is quite amazing. I think some reader comments have to do with botched up systems. Since QT can do so many things it takes some time to get familiar. It is a major application, a media equivalent of a suite of applications. As such it powers FCP, iLife, and many other applications. QT-7 with H.264 is an amazing scalable codec and the online tutorials really helped me to use it. You can record, edit, and transform media.

One of the problems I had and I'm sure a bunch of others are having as well is that Quicktime won't accept your code. In my case this was because I put a different name than who it was billed to, and it took it as "invalid". Make sure you register your Quicktime Pro to the same name as it was billed to––As well as the code, of course––, and it should work fine.

It's a great product, and I finally upgraded. I had Pro with Quicktime 6 and then didn't get QTPro for a while, but now I finally did, and it works fine =]

QuickTime Pro is great set of tools for a very reasonable price. Using it requires a bit of imagination and ingenuity, but if you have no technical chops you may not be in the right place if you're trying to create video.

The one annoying gotcha about QuickTime Pro is that it dies with any whole number version upgrade. For example, my copy of QuickTime 6 Pro went away forever once I upgraded to QuickTime 7, and I had to buy it all over again. It's only $30, but jeeze! Add to that the fact that whenever QuickTime 8 comes out they will be dunning you to upgrade all the time and probably not mention very loudly that your Pro capabilities are about to irretrievably go away if you do it.

I don't know what program “SS from Lisle” was using (see review of March 16, 2006) but it obviously either wasn’t this one or he was having a bad hair day. QuickTime 7 works fine when opening and playing both MP3 and AVI files.
