i like its program this program is wonderful

very good.

QT7 Pro will do simple editing without transcoding, so it is lossless and fast. Great for trimming or extracting portions of videos. It also does very flexible transcoding. It isn't a replacement for iMovie nor is it for screen captures.

Here's hoping Apple either keeps this running forever or brings QuickTime X up to its capabilities (which so far doesn't seem to be happening).

The "pass through" feature is broken in this current version (7.6.6). You won't be able to save audio if you add it to a video clip using the "pass through" feature.

I've used QT Pro for years (the same version), and find it extremely useful for video compression. I just had to buy it for work to encode streaming .MOVs & it does the job without a bunch of bells & whistles. It gives you more options than any of the free file conversion applications available.

I also thought I could record the screen with the pro version. What a disappointment! Aside from that I can't figure out what the point of upgrading to pro is? It is not easy to figure out how to edit video in it. Waste of $30.

I bought QT Pro 7, because I thought this would be an upgrade for my iMovie, which I hate. I hate the iMovie Ken Burns effect because of the lack of control with the very dumb zooming in and out.

So, now, after digging into my new $30 purchase, I'm wondering why QT offers no ability to provide a transition from frame-to-frame, like a very basic and simple Powerpoint slideshow, or iPhoto? I deleted both iMovie and iPhoto a long time ago, because they are a waste of memory. iMovie has an ok interface, but where are the video editing tools for Apple that allow for multimedia presentations? iMovie was a bug-ridden piece of garbage, which seemed to have different bugs for each version that was released.

Microsoft has a nice little free movie editor, but because i have a Mac, I can't use that -- I have to go back to MSFT's PPT to get reasonable slide transitions; and of course, that doesn't work either when you save a PPT to video! The obvious solution seems to be to not use photos with video. Why didn't I think of that before I spent $30????

Apparently I may be able to spend hours and hours adding in extra black frames in-between slides and then playing around with alpha channels and altering opacity, but for $30, I had hoped this would be one of the most basic features offered.... duh. This will also be an issue for video transitions and title fades, ... so maybe there is someone here that has a link to help me out? The on-line guide from Apple for QT did not help. Next time I consider any Apple product, I'll spend a lot more time asking questions and spend time doing a hands on test! I remain somewhat hopeful that there is some useful functionality there for video edits!

We The Pro People, have been using Apple for many years. Could someone from Apple please make us, try and understand:
• Why do I have to go BACK to QT 7 to use QT PRO? (aren't you embarrassed to ask this?)
• We The Pro People with what you are doing to Final Cut Pro. Why?
• What is the idea with Lion X? Why are there no major updates to fix so much? Or maybe you could forget it, follow the yellow brick road and come up with Bear X, or with OhMy X (Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh my!).
We The Pro People have been faithful to you Apple for many years, and in return got the best from Apple. Please keep feeding us the best to keep our faith strong.
Keep Mac OS X robust, well designed and in the front.
Or is Apple so bewildered with iPhone, iPod, iPad, that Apple is losing interest in We The Pro People?
Also in this relationship, I would rather have it straightforward, and not through subtle hints. If you are to leave, let us part as friends. It has been so good for so many years..

Due to the limitations and annoying user interface of QuickTime 10, I have continued to use QuickTime 7 (standard and Pro) over the years. Unlike some reviews I've seen on here that state otherwise, QuickTime 7 will continue to work on Snow Leopard and Lion. QuickTime 7 was an optional install included on the Snow Leopard DVD. After installing Lion, simply insert your Snow Leopard DVD and look under Optional Installs to get the option to install QuickTime 7.
