Answer
Both headphones sound really great however the Momentums offer a slightly better soundstage due to being around the ear headphones instead of on the ear like the P5s. Personally I prefer the P5s as I find them more comfortable and I really like the design. The Momentums are comfortable too they just don't fit my head as nicely as the p5s. You really can't go wrong with either pair.

I've got a Bose QC 3. Thinking of buy a new one. B&W P5 or Harman Kardon NC? Can anyone tell the difference between all of those? which is the best?
Tried a Demo B&W P5, there is no noise cancellation features but it isolation all surrounding noise pretty good. Which gives the best sound quality? Thx

Anyone used these (or the P3's) for air travel yet?
I just bought the P3's on Friday, but I'm considering making the jump to these if the isolation is any better. I think I like the weight and feel of the P3's - and I'm concerned that the leather on these might make my ears sweat.
I'm taking a flight to California in less than 2 weeks and I'd rather not sit through 6 hours of sound-crippling jet engine noise, but I don't want to sacrifice sound quality for active noise cancellation.- Asked by Josh W from Wadsworth

Can't speak for dubstep, but listen to a really broad range of music, from drone, krautrock, techno to death metal, thrash, hardcore and a lot of points in between. These are great, as they eliminate a lot of the overbright, crashing highs in many other brands that can make listening to metal at volume painful. Good detail and separation means double kicks are punchy and riffs crunchy without any greater distortion that that intended by the band and their producer. I'm yet to find a musical style that doesn't sound great on these

how do these headphones sound when it comes to rap music? what about bass heavy tracks? I know these are good for naturalistic sounds. dub step?

I got a pair of these the other day. First and foremost - my taste is mostly in the sense of Trance, techno, electro, drum n bass, house and some dubstep.
In terms of sound quality - they are natural and ABSOLUTELY amazing.
But as a bass heavy type enthusiast - you might be disappointed.
The P5's weren't really designed to be bass heavy monster crazy headphones, they were designed for an overall exceptional sound.
Don't let that put you off them, they are immense in terms of sound quality - i notice pieces of instrument like never before and where compression is lacking with these headphones. i'm just telling you what i personally feel as a bass heavy type lover.
At lower volumes - the bass isn't overwhelming... just balanced.
At 70-80% the bass comes alive - but not to the extent that the Beats. But with the beats you do lose the immense sound quality.
In terms of Hip Hop/Rap - i know the bass you want, and they aren't as prominent on these headphones.
What i will regard as rolling bass is a mass drop and phat bassline - the stuff you find in these songs:
36 Mafia - late night tip
Wine O & Paul Wall - Pop my trunk
DMX - Dogs Out
50 Cent - Many Men
Eminem - Under the Influence
Beats handle the bass response with more punch but that's not what the P5s are for.
In terms of Dubstep - the bass is better handled because it is fast paced with brilliant kicks and compressed lo dirty synths and bass synths. It worked very well with:
Avicii - Levels (Skrillex remix)
Calvin Harris - Flashback (Millions like us remix)
Rusko - Hold On (Subfocus Remix) <- technically not dubstep.
Bass is not as immense as the beats - but with that amazing sound quality WHO CARES!!!!!
Overall - if bass is your thing, these headphones may be a let down... BUT REST ASSURE I AM NOT ONE BIT DISAPPOINTED.
it's best you go to apple store and really test them out. overall i'm happier with these than with beats. HANDS DOWN- Answered by Ivor C

With an iPhone un-amped, are these louder than the Bose QC3's? I find the volume on the Bose headphones are not loud enough for my liking.

well the Bose are around-the ear type so in a way the enclosure will make them sound louder and use the noise cancelation that they have but if its comparing the sound then no they are the same, they both offer a 40mm driver so the only difference is how they manipulate the sound. I have to be honest i dont like the Bose. Bose has a decent design to give you that added noise cancelation effect but in reality they dont do much justice to me and they feel cheap...they are almost fully made of plastic and really don't see reasoning in spending $300 bucks for them. The P5's have little to no plastic its Leather and metal not to mention the metal gives speakers added bass to a speaker and the speaker cones are made out of Kevlar woven which was engineered by B&W to reproduce high quality sound in all their speaker systems while all bose are made out of paper so you see that price tags starts looking alot more of a rip off compared to the P5's.

Having used the P5s, for a quite a bit, I believe they will stay on. I personally haven't used them while exercising; due to the imported sheep skin leather gets immensely warm on your ears and they will make them sweat profusely.
I wouldn't recommend these for workouts because you'll sweat on the earbuds and they are very expensive. The C5s are less expensive and go in your ears. Other than the P5s getting way too hot on your ears after a few minutes, like hot burger patties on your ears, is the only flaw in my opinion. They are still worth every penny because of the clarity and physical construction; not a hint of plastic to be seen...- Answered by David N from San Diego

Is the sound quality better if you use the P5s with a standalone DAC/amp, connected to an iPhone?
I know the P5s are made for iPhone and they have a high sensitivity rating. I am curious if there's some enhancement with a separate DAC/amp...

Apple had them for a short wile and a small invintory. When I contacted Bowers and Wilkons I was told they had a short supply, it reality from my white pair is that they discolored within 2 weeks and B&W had no info on how to clean them, so I went to the black ones, had no issues with the black ones, the sound quality is amazing on every level.

Has anyone tried the B&W P5s, with a NuForce Icon iDo, plugged into an iPhone? Is the sound quality immensely better? I own both the P5s & the 4S.
