Is the cable really tangle-free?

Best Answer
They really are, althought they can be tangled if you happen to knot the cable. The cable design took 10 years to create, it does becomes worn out after some time but this new pair is stronger and more durable.

do these have a straight or angled plug?
I have looked and looked, monsters site shows pictures with straight, as does the cnet video of the regular tours, but also on monsters site they boast about having angled plugs, not specifying a certain headphone, but it also says on the same page their headphones have flat cables like these, but we know the solos and studios don't. Everything I see leads be to believe they have a straight plug, but I'm worried they have an angled.

Answer
The reason why you see the straight plug everywhere is because that was the first version. Both the controltalk and regular versions of the in-ear headphones now have the angled 90 degree jack.
I know this because I had both at one time.- Answered by Michael H from Arab

How does one activate the ControlTalk? By ambient noise or by button? Also, do they stay in the ears?
I ask about the ControlTalk because the in-box Apple iPhone 3GS earbuds were obnoxious in that they always activated voice control when exposed to ambient noise such as the wind, or even my clothes moving. This would constantly interrupt my music, and there was no way to disable voice control, or the microphone. Ideally I would like the ControlTalk feature, to be able to pause music with the remote, but if the mic is super sensitive and activates Voice Control when unwanted, doing the same thing as the Apple earphones, I will go with the less expensive, non-ControlTalk version.
Also, do they stay in the ear? I remember buying a pair of $250 Shure earbuds to find they fell out ever minute or so. Biggest disappointment ever since they sounded great but wouldn't stay in. They're still sitting in my drawer, and I don't want that to happen with another pair of expensive earbuds.

Does the control talk work with the Siri on the iPhone 4S?
I am wondering if the control talk works with Siri on the iPhone 4S.

Answer
Yes it does. And very well actually. Just hold down the silver talk button in the middle of the module and you will hear the Siri prompt tone. I use it while on the freeway with the windows rolled down and she still understands my commands. Hope this helps.

Best Answer
No Even though at a right angle, the jack is small and if you align it horizontally with the top of your iphone it works well as the cable is sufficiently flexible. Hope this helps.

Do these in-ear headphones have the same advertised bass enhancer/performance as the Beats Studio over-ear headphones and the Beats Solo on-ears?
- Asked by Patrick M from Wyomissing
- Sep 7, 2010
- Flag as inappropriate
Answer
These will not have the same amount of bass as the Solo's for sure. The solo's have very powerful base.... too powerful to hear your music clearly. I have had the studio's and they have very very very good sound and bass. just right. but the bass on those are a little more powerful for comparing bass with the tours. I returned my studios because of the size, but i miss them because of their precise sound. I exchanged them for these, and they are great. :D -sign out-

Do these give true 'hands-free' phone connection for 3G (not S) iphone? I need to anwer phone without having to get the phone out of my pocket.
Some earlier responses are still ambiguous.
I know some other ear sets claim to be hands free (Bose) but in fact you have to use the touch screen of the 3G iphone, making 'hands-free' a spurious claim.
Can I really leave the phone untouched in my pocket and receive/answer/make calls without touching the phone itself? I want to be able to keep my hands in my pocket now it is so cooooold when dog walking.- Asked by Gillian S

No these will not work for 3G. (not s) the Iphone 3G is a discontinued model and its doesn't have the current technology for it to work with control talk. Sorry. :D -sign out-
