Monster. iCarplay Cassette 800 adapter and the Griffin Power Jolt V2 Car Charger do not fit together on an ipod nano 5th generation.
Monster. iCarplay Cassette 800 adapter and the Griffin Power Jolt V2 Car Charger do not fit together on an ipod nano 5th generation.
I want to use my iPod now fifth-generation during long trips in my car. The salesman at the Apple store sold the me the Monster. iCarplay Cassette 800 adapter and the Griffin Power Jolt V2 Car Charger. Unfortunately, when I tried to plug both of them in to ipod nano fifth-generation at the same time, there is not enough room, perhaps due to the oversized ending on the Monster.800 cassette adapter plug. Each can be plugged in independently, but not at the same time due to lack of room, and each works correctly alone.
Does anyone know of any combination cassette adapter and charger that will work with the nano fifth-generation in a car?- Asked by Howard S from Millbrook

In "Features" it states that it is compatible with all iPod models, The cable plugs into your headphone jack, so in reality it works with anything that uses headphones.

Can you talk on the phone and listen to the caller through the cassette tape? (Does the microphone work while the cassette is plugged in?)

Answer
Yes, you can. I have the iPhone 4 and I made a call with the iCarPlay Cassette plugged into the cassette player of my 2001 Toyota Celica GT. The voice of the person I called could be heard over my car's speaker and the person could hear my voice clearly on their end. Evidently, the noise canceling function of the mic next to the headphone jack worked well, but they heard an echo of their own voice. On my end the person I called only had a slight echo.

Answer
You could try an iTrip or other sort of FM transmitter then your iPod signal is transmitted on FM and can be picked up by the radio in your car, but i have found the quality poor. I have a 6 changer in my boot and you can buy an adaptor that plugs from that to your ipod and allows you to control the ipod from the stereo (just skip and 1-6 numbered playlists - using the CD changer controls) but you have to disconnect the CD changer and they are quite expensive (£80 last time i looked). Otherwise you could get a new stereo.
