In response to the question "does the remote navigate among playlists?" - It depends on the iPod. The iPod Classic I had and used with the Bose Sounddock portible worked fantastic with the remote. I could easily change playlists and pick different items. But when the hard drive fried on the iPod Classic, I replaced it with the iPod touch, I discovered that the remote is not compatible with the iPod touch. The Bose web site says it is compatible but you need to read the manual for the sounddock to realize that you HAVE to have an iPod with a "wheel" to be able to use the remote!. The iPod touch does fit and play on the sounddock but you cannot use the remote. READ THE MANUAL BEFORE BUYING TO BE SURE EVERYTHING IS COMPATIBLE! Do not count on the advertisements and website for information.

the system has an auxiliary input and dock connector for audio devices. if you are looking for a system that can work in the main room and connect to the television for display images, the SoundDock 10 seems more appropriate as it has an composite video output.- Answered by Adam P

Answer
Simply purchase a 3.5mm to 3.5mm phono lead. Insert one end into headphone jack of Shuffle, other end into the auxillery input jack of the Bose. Viola!

Yes you can! Assuming you have the correct cables and your TV has and audio out port, it is possible. I have done this with my TV and SoundDock II

does the ipod just plug in with no other accessories?
If I buy the bose speaker dock do I have to buy anything else for my ipod classic 160g
