Does the USB port charge an iPad?

I can confirm the 16GB and 32GB wifi version charge just fine via USB. be warned that you will get the "Not Charging" status when the screen is on, but it's charging... slowly. So turn off the screen and it'll do fine.
I can also confirm that I'm able to charge 2 USB devices at once, my iPhone and iPad do appear to be charging. This might help if you've seen reviews otherwise.- Answered by Jason M from Littleton

Does the model for sale here (in the Australiastore) have Australian sockets? The sockets pictured seem weird and scary to me...

I was thinking the same thing. If you have a look at the Apple USB Power Adaptor the prongs are shaped in a way that will fit in Australian power sockets. The Belkin one here looks like it's designed for America/Canada. But that's just my thoughts.

Can I use this in India or Vietnam or Thailand?
The product naming suggests that it can be used around the world, but it only comes with a grounded American-style plug. What am I missing?

will this charge iphone4 and ipad 2 at the same time

Best Answer
Yes. I have the exact same setup. Here's how.
Plug the surge suppressor into wall socket.
Plug iPad charger into one of the three outlets and connect to iPad.
Plug iPhone charger into one of the three outlets and connect to iPhone OR use just the USB cable to plug iPhone into one of two USB ports on surge suppressor.
Bottom line: USB ports won't charge iPad. That's what the three outlets are for.- Answered by Stan A from Oxnard
