If on the box the system requirements mention 10.4, it is the older version. If the system requirements don't mention 10.4, and only mention Leopard, then it is 10.5. Can you visit an Apple Retail Store so you can look at the box before making your purchase?

what languages are supported?
I could not find any information whether other languages are supported or whether there are other language editions. I am primarily interested in a Chinese version. Apple used to have their own Chinese Dicatation Kit in the 1990s but the project was apparently killed after the switch to Intel. Can't find anything for the Mac anymore.

Is it possible to dictate onto a template
I would be using this to dictate history and physical examinations at a medical clinic. Some elements are common and would be in a template form. I would like to direct the corrections, i.e. delete the a portion and dictate over.

I purchased a MAC and I want to write a book. For productivity, I want to "speak" my book. PLS recommend software to help me accomplish my goal!!
Specifically, I would like a recommendation on software that will work with I-Works so I can save my work for print later...that would keep pace with my rate (and manner) of speech. That can perform editing or at least suggest changes in the text.
