Can you mute/ unmute yourself on phone calls?

Best Answer
Using the mute/unmute button on the phone is the only way to mute the phone. The remote is to answer calls, talk to siri, answer calls hang up calls, volume up/down and snap a photo with the "+" just like the old ones, as well as play/pause music and skip foward a track by double pressing. Skip back a track by triple pressing. Buffer by hold down in the direction you want to go using the double and triple press method.

is there noise from the cord?
Hello
I would like to understand how much noise is transmitted from the cord/cable bumping into other things (e.g. like bumping on chest/arm when running). I have some earphones which also have a Mic, and the noise transmission from the cord is terrible. Does these Apple earpods have the same problem?
Thanks- Asked by Douglas S

Does remote mean wireless..
The product description doesn't make clear what remote means. Does it mean wireless.

Answer
Remote just means that you can change the volume, track, activate siri, and answer calls and facetimes from the button on the right side of the headphone cord. In no way is it a wireless remote, but it does allow you to control the functions of an iPhone or iPod without reaching into your pocket.

My EarPods arrived a week after order, here in the States.
From 12 years working in shipping & receiving, with a fair number of small-package orders even to NZ, I'd guess expect three weeks at the outside, with a decent chance of two weeks instead.- Answered by David G from Amarillo

These 'EarPods' are simply 3.5mm jack earphones. They will work with pretty much any iPod/MP3 player/smartphone etc. The only thing that probably will not work is the remote and mic, which will only work with some Apple devices.
