AnswerThe Lightning adapter was introduced for the iPhone 5 and the newest iPad that came out last month. If you look at the connector on your iPad, it has the wide 30-pin connector. Very "not" compatible with an iPad 2. I have a 3rd generation iPad (that came out this past spring) which has the same connector as your iPad and I really can't use the adapter with my iPad, although I can use it with my new iPhone 5.

Best AnswerNo macs have thunderbolt ports this is for the lightning port that the new iPad's iPhone and iPod have and its output not input. Hope this helps

When used with an iPhone 5, does it stretch the output?
iPhone 5 is at 1136x640, so when connected to an HDTV, does the TV get sent a 640p signal, or a 720p signal where everything is slightly blurry from upscaling? If it sends a 640p signal, then you could decide for yourself with the TV's options whether to upscale or leave the image with a border around it.

Connect iPad Mini to DSLR?
With the Lightning Digital AV adapter and an HDMI cable, is it possible to connect an iPad mini to a DSLR and use the iPad to see what is in the camera viewfinder or LCD screen?
I don't want to be able to control the camera, just see the viewfinder/LCD screen.

The text for this adapter says both "up to 720p HD" and "up to 1080p". Which is it? (The text for the 30-pin digital adapter does a better job.)
The text for your new Lightning Digital AV Adapter needs a clearer explanation of its resolution limits. The older 30-pin Digital AV Adapter says your iPad is mirrored on an "HDMI-compatible display in up to 1080p HD (movies play at up to 720p)." Are the same limitations in effect here?

Best AnswerYes this will work with the old 30 pin Camera Connection kit. I have just verified that it works with the 4th generation iPad. Both the SD Card and USB adapter work great.
