Is the new iPhone 5 lightening cable the same length as the other one? Or is it longer?

AnswerThis cable is the same length as the 30-pin dock connector cables included with previous models of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. If you find it to be too short, I've found a cheap $5 USB extension cable (you can find them on Amazon) to work perfectly.

Will this support iPod out?

Best Answer"iPod Out" is an audio/video technology developed for certain cars whereby the iPod's native interface is displayed on the car's display. This mode involves sending a video and an audio signal through the 30 pin connector. This feature is unavailable with the lightning cable.
Most cars display their own interface for interacting with music. Those cars will continue to work as before.- Answered by William I from Portland

Digital audio output via USB
I have a Teac CD player with an "iPod USB" connection on the front. This currently takes the digital audio signal from my iPod touch 4th gen via a 30-pin to USB cable, and uses its own built in DAC to convert it to analogue that then goes into my amp. Will this still work with an iPhone 5 and a lightning to USB cable?

Must I have this connector to connect the new nano to my macbook pro?
I would like to buy a new iPod nano. Do I need this connector in order to connect to my macbook pro and sync/charge the new nano, or is there a cable that comes with the device that will have a compatible connection with my macbook?
I don't want to buy extra product, but I don't want to buy a new device that I can't sync because it's not compatible with the computer I have. Please clarify. Thanks.- Asked by Diane T from Beverly

AnswerNo. Unfortunately, the iPhone 5 has a new connector called a lightning port. To connect an iPhone 5 to your iHome accessories, you will need to purchase a 30-Pin to Lightning adapter.

Answer
The current 9-pin cable that comes with the iPhone 5 does NOT transmit video via USB. When used with a Pioneer head unit, Pandora & iPod functionality is fine, but Netflix YouTube, & GPS navigation do NOT work. Hopefully a video capable USB cable will be released soon.

Will this device allow me to connect to my PC and download a movie I've made in I-movie?
I want to make I-movies on my new i-pad. However, I have a PC, not an Apple Computer. So, once I've made an i-movie on my i-pad, how do I burn a DVD?
