Best AnswerSmart Case protects the whole iPad, while as the Smart Cover only protects the screen. I have both, and i love my Smart Case

Can you clean the case?
So, on one side of the cover there is a fabric like material, and it gets dirty( stains, eyeshadow, makeup, pencil, etc.) Can you clean it? If so, how? If it gets wet will it stain?

Best AnswerYou can clean it with soap and water and a TOOTHBRUSH gently then brush dry with a dry cloth towel.

Are the edges supposed to be sharp?
I just picked up the new case from an apple store and after getting home and fitting it to my iPad I was disappointed at how nasty it feels to hold the iPad now. The edges of this case are really sharp and I wondered if it was really designed that way or if mine had been manufactured wrongly.
Also, if th iPad is held upside down the cover falls away, shouldn't the magnets hold it in place?- Asked by Paul J

AnswerYes. It will prevent it as long as you don't drop it in a way that the back hits the floor. I have the same cover and I dropped the iPad on a concrete sideway while walking. The cover prevented the iPad but the cover itself is a little damaged. Nothing much. The iPad fell face down on the sidewalk. But there was no damage to the iPad. :)

AnswerYes, the case does not protect the screen while it is being used, so if you want to protect the screen while you are using it then you need a screen protector.

AnswerDo you mean just an regular case. If so the difference is the magnetic strips in the cover that let you shape the case and stand it up. The magnets lock the screen when you close the case.

AnswerYes when the flap is closed over the screen there is a magnet to hold it closed as well as turn off the iPad if you have it set for that.
