will it take mini dvd-r discs that are used in camcorders?
- Asked by Nicholas H from Wetaskiwin

Answerno, you can only use regular-sized dvd / cd disks. don't attempt to insert a mini-dvd or a mini-cd, as it will get stuck in, you won't be able to take it out and you will have to have your superdrive serviced. on top of that, it might jeopardize the superdrive's internal parts.

Can I use this on its side, or does it need to lay flat - thinking of velcroing it to the back of my new iMac
- Asked by Larry C from Boston

AnswerI would not advise against using this on its side, there could be issues with the disk spinning and perhaps the mechanism been unable to provide the stability it needs whilst spinning.
I have my USB Super Drive on the foot/base of the stand on my new iMac and its a really good place for it I find, its within very easy reach, also it doesn't look out of place either.- Answered by David T

Does the drive have a manual release hole?
How are we to remove discs if the drive ceases to function? Does the drive have a small hole that allows manual unlocking and ejection of the disc when something such as an unwound paperclip is inserted in to it and pushed, in the traditional manner on optical drives? If not, is the drive able to be disassembled by removing screws?

Best AnswerNo. When I had a disk disappear from the desktop I had to restart the Mac while holding the trackpad down in the clicked position in order to eject the disk. Any screws would be hidden by the rubber pad glued to the bottom.

Does this drive have a built-in eject button?

Best AnswerHello.
No. The Apple USB SuperDrive doesn't have any buttons!
You simple must connect it to your Apple computer, via USB cable (already included with the SuperDrive). It's automatic.
To eject a CD or DVD, you need to use either the eject button that you can find on the keyboard, or simple drag the CD/DVD icon to the trash!
Once you want to disconnect it, simple grab the USB cable and take it off the USB slot from you apple computer.
Hope this helps.- Answered by José C
