How many mm thick is the new rear iPad cover?

Answerroughly 0.75 mm thick rubber-leather-like surface which appears to be two ply (strength, tear resistant).

Best AnswerI bought this case for my iPad 2, and the fit is loose. And I mean loose. The new iPad is half a millimeter thicker than the iPad 2, and the curves are more rotund, there for the fit will be loose for the iPad 2. However, putting a paper towel in between the iPad 2 and the back of the case will fill that half millimeter and larger curves.

Does the Smart Case mess with screen protectors?
I was thinking of getting a Smart Case for my iPad, I like the overall look and feel that the case offers. I was wondering if it messed up a screen protector that I had installed on my iPad.

Best AnswerNo. The smart case has edges that cover only the very edge of the iPad. You will find that the edges of the case do not cover the glass portion, thereby not interfering with any screen protector that you may have installed.

Is it possible to customize the iPad smart cover or smart case with a picture or logo?
I would like to be able to submit a picture I took and have it on my iPad cover.
Also, a good friend of mine is an artist and would like to sell iPad covers with her paintings on them. She already has a retailer (Anthropologie) selling handbags with her paintings on them and they look good. She thought iPad covers and cases would be awesome too and is wondering how to get them made.
Some companies may want to have iPad covers and cases customized with their company logo, to give to employees, partners and customers.

Best AnswerCouldn't hurt. My iPad cost $699, so I certainly saw no harm in buying a case, screen protector and AppleCare for it.

How does it work with the rear-facing camera? Seems that when folded back, the cover would be over the lens.

AnswerIt is over the lens, however you can fold the 'cover' portion in half, and then fold it back, and that way the cover doesn't block the camera when you are holding it.

Can you take photos and videos with the case on?
I have another case and the lens is partially obscured. i don't want to have to take the case off when taking a pic, the ipad would be vulnerable to dropping then. Thanks.

No. The bottom edge of the case prevents the iPad from being mounted on the iPad dock, and most 3rd party docking stations (that I've tried). It will work fine if you sync and charge it via a regular sync cable, but you can rule out the possibility of using the iPad with a dock if it's in the Smart Cover.
