Does the smart cover fit the ipad1?
- Asked by Laurence R from Kapellen
- Mar 29, 2011
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
Since the exterior of the iPad 1 and iPad 2 are the same dimensions it does fit the top of the screen. However, the iPad 2 has magnets built into the machine in order to respond to the magnets in the smart cover. This allows the cover to stay in place and be appropriately aligned. Also, this allows the cover to lock or awaken the screen. Essentially, the smart cover will not stay on the iPad 1 because there are no magnets. I would not recommend buying a smart cover if you only own an iPad 1.

as the i pad 2 has magnets in it can you use it if you have a pacemaker.
- Asked by Gail R
- Jun 22, 2011

Best Answer
As a cardiac nurse I do believe the magnets that are used to activate or deactivate a pacemaker/defibrilator are a different type of magnet than those that would be easily purchased in a store. Furthermore the magnets on this case are too low of a quality to do any damage. One of the Cardiologists that comes to the hospital has one of these and he takes it into pts rooms, some of who have pacemakers, and it hasn't interferred with the pacemaker or our telemetry so far. But if you are still worried, don't go around with it laying on your chest.

Can you use this case for first generation ipad
iPad smart cover any color
- Asked by Adam B from Dunlap
- Mar 28, 2011
- Flag as inappropriate
Best Answer
You can set it on the first generation iPad for temporary protection, but that is not it's intended purpose. The magnetic bar on the side of the smart covers hooks, and auto-alligns, itself to the side of the magnetic iPad 2. When closed, it puts it to sleep, and opening it awakens it. Placing any smart cover on an iPad 1 will protect it but it may slide off. I recommend purchasing a cover for first generation iPad, because buying this adds unneeded features and most likely a higher cost.

Is it comfortable to use the smart cover as a handle (fold in back like a triangle) when using the ipad 2?
Like when you use the smart cover as a stand for ipad 2, now the same exact position rest your thumb in the front of your ipad 2 while your other 4 fingers are on grip of the smart cover. Will the magnet hold, Is that safe or is it very likely for ipad 2 to slip?
- Asked by Myredon C from Woodside
- May 17, 2011

Best Answer
It's very likely, almost eminent actually that if you hold it that way, the smart cover will actually detach and your iPad will fall to the ground. DO NOT hold it that way. EVER.

There is not a cover but there is a case that does pretty much the same thing. Just make sure if you get the case that you do not buy the smart case because that will not work with the original iPad.

What is the difference between the cover and the case ?
Do you need a case to use the cover or do the both do the same job ?

The difference is that the case has a back fabric and the cover is only going to cover the screen. also the both do he same things.I suggest that if you travel a lot you should get the case.
