You can get many hard slim cases for the back and also you could get a Zagg invisible shield which is a thin protector for all the body, like a screen protector all the way round. This has a nice resistance to it.

can you use a smart cover with an Otterbox
I am wondering about getting some additional cover to go with my Otterbox, so that the screen is covered. I carry the iPad around with the Otterbox, and dust gets in between the front of the Otterbox and the screen.

There is a case that has a padded neck strap that you can clip on. I ordered one and am very pleased with it. I can take my iPad shopping and not be afraid I'll leave it on a counter somewhere, but still have my list available.
It is especially good for those who are afraid of dropping their iPad.
Good luck.- Answered by Lewis A from Greene

How to put on smart cover
Can you put the smart cover on the wrong way? If so how do you remove it?
- Asked by Jane L from By Humbie
- Apr 16, 2011

Best Answer
The covers attaches magnetically to the left side (portrait, home button down) of the iPad2. I think it may attach to the right side but the hardware buttons may get in the way and the close sensors are on the wrong side. It will be obvious something is wrong. You may be able get the cover to attach somewhat inside out. It may take some practice folding and attaching the cover as a stand. There is no adhesive with this cover so removal is by just breaking the magnetic connection.

Does the smart cover protect the screen when in use, or do I need a zagg invisible shield ?
- Asked by Neven V from Delta
- Mar 28, 2011

Best Answer
The smart cover is designed to protect the screen, that is its main use, however, if you don't mind using a screen cover, it isn't a bad idea, I personally always put a matte finish protector on because it makes the screen not so oily and protects it better

The smart cover is only designed for the iPad 2 and will not work with the first generation iPad. It is the same size but there are no magnets in the first iPad to hold it in place.

Answer
Yes there is. It's a Targus rotating cover. I bought mine from PC World. It fits very well. The only drawback I have found is that it uses a strip of elastic as the closure.

Do I need to keep the magnetic cover away from other electronics, like my laptop?
When I use my iPad 2, I usually lay it right next to, or sometimes right on top of (if I'm limited for space) my laptop. I also have it by my phone, my iPod, etc. Do I need to worry about the magnetic cover harming my other electronics?
- Asked by Lynn P from Angola

This is harder to answer. The Smart Cover works with magnets, there is magnet on the cover and inside the device itself, that is why it does need much effort to get it perfectly aligned. Stronger magnets could hurt electronic ESP a LCD screen, may cause dead pixels but the magnet that is used in the SC and in the iPad will not harm your other electronics, it's not strong enough and that's why they are relatively easy to remove. If the magnets were any stronger you may have some problems but I am certain Apple though of that since they stated they made the SC and the iPad 2 at the same time. I have a MB Pro and I will lay the iPad down for a few sec/mins on the keyboard and the magnets sometimes put the iPad in sleep mode but as soon as I remove it or change placements it turns back on. It's not something you should worry about. Hope this helps clear things up for you.
