None of the iPad Smart Covers come with a back cover. They magnetically attach on the left side, and only cover the front of your iPad 2.

Answer
Yes, I actually have the FB shield from Zagg and it works perfectly. If you already have the SC I would suggest that at least get the cover for the back as that is the only part that is not protected. I have the FB shield and I never have to worry about the device being scratched or not.

Is it as safe and as protective as the BIG BULKY case?
- Asked by Julian W from Yorba Linda
- Feb 27, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerIt depends...... Because If your clumsy and drop things a lot then I would suggest getting the big bulky case only because the iPad Smart Cover doesn't have a back to it, but if you always keep your iPad at hand then I would recommend the Smart cover.

I have an existing case covering the iPad 2... Will the Smart Cover still fit and work with my iPad 2?
- Asked by Gerald N S from Newbury Park
- Jun 22, 2011
- Flag as inappropriate
Answerit depends on the casing you bought.
some cases have slots by the side which is compatible with the smart cover.
Or you can also get those protective film for the back of the ipad, while smartcover protects the front.
unlike the cases/jackets, the protective film is lightweight, clear/transparent and does not cause overheating.
there are a few brands in the market. Bodyguardz and Klearzkin.

AnswerYou can use the Belkin Secure Shield (iPad 2) for either the second or third generation iPadas. The cover is snug on the 3rd the, but it works fine. I am using the smoke/black version with the black leather Smart Cover on my third gen. It's perfect.
