The black cover is leather, not plastic. All of the leather covers are $30 more.

No, unfortunately it does not magnetically align with iPad 1, due to the creators of iPad 1, they didn't concentrate on the magnets, whereas the creators of the iPad 2 concentrated the way they would align the magnets to connect the two, to make them sleep and wake and to fit the design,

Holy Smoley-one has to wonder where some folks take their iPads so as to get all sorts of stains, spotting; etc; on the covers. In any event, you are wise to simply use a good quality lint free damp-NOT wet-cloth to clean your blue leather cover.
It's NOT recommended that you use any so called 'specialized removal' products on either type of Smart Cover-leather or polyurethane. Such products could impact negatively on the screen, casing and the interior of your iPad2 if an accidental spill occurs. With water you, at least, have a chance that your iPad and Smart Cover will survive and be workable once dried out!- Answered by Jan D from Markham

pretty sure the colors are available in only one material (red only in leather, pink only in poly etc.) At least that's what I've seen in the Apple stores and online.
