Is this the MC947LL/A or MD301LL/A model? And can you tell me the difference? Thank you
- Asked by Dennis W from Canton
- Mar 14, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerThe MC series models are the ones which Apple released prior to the release of the 3rd Generation iPad. The MD series is a newer part number, but they are interchangeable parts. When you enter the MC series part number on the Apple Store, it brings up the current model of the item (updated after the release of the 3rd Generation iPad). The MC series is NOT a knock off of the MD series covers.

Best AnswerSome back covers are compatible, but not all. Check on the left side of the backing if there's a space for the smart cover's magnetic hinge.

is it possible to customize ipad cover coz our company wants it embroidered with our logo.
- Asked by Dexter D
- Feb 21, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerYes;
Also, depending on your mix &/or personal iDevices (iPods - iPhones - iPads) one can have logos, text, hybrid text & logo OR any graphic(s) incorporated into ANY cover, albeit an Apple store leather or poly cover through Targus to Kenneth Cole.
If Apple can't support your request, then research/identify a local or 3rd-party to provide best quality & potential volume cost saving. Good luck, next it's just ovewhelming to select which font, colours, etc. :D
Background:
Own 2 corps - did shirts to iDevice covers - anything can be done with your corp name & logo! Personally own 3 iPads (v1, 2v2, and vi3) and 6 iPhones (2 4's & 4 4s) and just FYI also own 2 iPod Minis (old), 2 iPod Nanos, 1 iShuffle A N D a partridge in a pear tree :-)- Answered by Emily N from Scottsdale

Best Answer
Yep, you have the choice of two angle positions or wrap around the back of the iPad protecting the back from scratches when laying flat on a table.

Does the black smart cover get dirty as quickly as the old iPad 1 Apple made case?
Since its black would that mean it would pick up dirt quicker? Would I be better off getting a coloured one?

AnswerI leave my smart cover on, but just lift it over the actual docking point. It then still keeps the screen covered and in sleep mode whilst charging.

Spray covers with leather protect
Can we use weather protection silicon spray for leather products: coats & bags
- Asked by Andrew L from Montreal (t.m.r)
- Mar 25, 2011
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerI have the black leather Smart Cover and I find that using a leather conditioning cream (for shoes and bags, not the furniture type) seems to bring out a nice luster and protect the leather. I have always used leather conditioners on my leather products (shoes and a leather briefcase) and I believe this is actually better for leather in the long run than a silicone spray. Leather is a natural product that ages very well over time with proper conditioning. Hope this helps!

Best Answer
No. The SmartCover attaches to the iPad2 with built-in magnets that are precisely aligned to meet magnets imbedded into the iPad2 case. The original iPad does not have these magnets imbedded into it's case, and so the cover will not attach or activate the sleep/wake function.

Does the cover have carrying handle
Handles on the cover so a person can carry it like a brief case
- Asked by Dominick D from Delray Beach
- Jan 8, 2012

AnswerNo, unfortunately, there isn't any handle on the Smart Cover BUT that's a darn fine idea! I have the ideal, small sized Roots leather briefcase that is simply perfect for carrying my iPad2. As well, there's ample room left over for your iPhone and other gadgets you might use on a daily basis.

Is the plastic attached to the eather cover removed (part of packaging) ?
- Asked by Maria D from Lincoln Park
- Feb 29, 2012
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerAny 'plastic', that is covering your Apple product when you receive it, is part of the overall product packaging and should be removed Maria. Usually this is indicated somewhere in the 'instructions' that come with an Apple item but, perhaps, like me, you were too excited to pay much attention to the latter!!
As with most all packaging, it is used to keep the product in as pristine a condition from the factory to the consumer, as is possible!- Answered by Jan D from Markham

What is the interior color of the RED Leather smart cover for ipad2?
- Asked by Xr X
- Jun 17, 2011

AnswerThe inside is a beautiful red just like the cover. I recently purchased the red leather cover. Only regret I have is that I didn't get it when I first purchased the iPad. I have been very pleased with my red smartcover. Well worth the money.

Which side is which?
The cover can be attached in both directions, either "up" or "down". Does it matter which resulting side of the cover should be facing the display? Is this different for the leather and the plastic covers?
