This item is not currently available in Apple Retail Stores (since the current iMacs don't work with them), but you can order one online and have it shipped to the store for free with Personal Pickup.

Will this fit a MID-2011 iMac 27"?
I can't tell by looking at the one image provided. Looking at the back of the iMac I can't tell how this might attach at all.

AnswerI am typing this answer on a 27" iMac (Mid 2011) which is mounted using this VESA mount adapter kit, so the answer is a definite yes :-)

Can I use this adapter for original (white) iMac 24 late 2006?

AnswerYes it will, we are probably one of the only very few people who still have one of these (amazing!) Machines. I love my white iMac it works perfectly. You just have to google for the guide to install it. It requires an Apple Access Card (you can make one yourself too! Just google it)

Best AnswerI assume you mean iMac? If so, the answer is yes, you do need an additional mounting kit. It's called a VESA Mount Adapter Kit for iMac.

Will this vesa mount work with New 2012 27" iMacs?
- Asked by Chris P from Des Plaines

Best Answer"Note: Not compatible with iMac (late 2012)" as specified by Apple themselves.
The question is now to know if there will be another one allowing us to wall mount the new thin and gorgeous iMac 2012!
I hope so, otherwise, let's say... the current 27" iMac is a better choice even if thicker!- Answered by Franck G

Sort of. There's not one like this that fits like the new 24 and 27" models and nothing from Apple.
What is available is an iMac mount for the older 17" and 21.5 inch models that mounts completely differently.

Does it scratch the back of the iMac? Or have a rubber patting?
- Asked by David R from North Hollywood
- Feb 26, 2012

Best AnswerIt does not scratch the back of the computer because it DOES have dense rubber strips along the two edges that make contact with the machine.

Can you use a VESA mount for an I-pad on a wheelchair?
The client has an otter box cover on an i-pad which is too thick to fit in a Ram-mount which we got last week. Maybe we can adapt it if we can fit into a VESA mount..
Many thanks, Marian Foley.- Asked by Marian F

Best AnswerFirst of all, this product is not a VESA mount itself. It is an adapter that allows you to USE a standard VESA mount. Also it works only with the listed Apple displays by replacing the mounting arm.
Since the RAM mount will securely clamp the iPad to the wheelchair, IMO it seems like the Otter Box may be overkill. Perhaps you could just take the iPad out of the Otter Box? (According to the RAM site, the arm won't accept ANY case on the iPad.)
Good luck!- Answered by Eric O from Rockford

WHAT IS THE DEPTH OF A MOUNTED IMAC SCREEN? SPECIFICALLY, A 27' (ON STAND IS 8.15", I'M WONDERING WHAT THE DEPTH IS MOUNTED). THANKS

Best AnswerThis will depend on your wall mount, but mine is just a hair under 7" when retracted as close to the wall as possible. The depth of the iMac + the mounting plate only is about 3.5", so add to that the depth of your selected wall mount for a total depth.

Can I use the VESA mount adapter for the current 21.5 inch iMAC? I just bought, will not fit on my desk under the hutch, need a way to lower by 1"

Best AnswerI have the EXACT Same Problem .. All 3rd party VESA mounts that I find require you to keep the iMAC 21.5" base on which makes my iMAC too tall. I have a need to mount my iMAC 21.5" under a kitchen cabinet that is 1/8" too tall. I assume the VESA kit you are talking about is MC434ZM/A.
Everything that I'm reading shows hat the base of the iMAC 21.5" is not removable. This is very dissapointing if true.- Answered by Richard G from Howell

Does this part work with the older 23" Apple Cinema displays that suggest using part number M9649G/A?
- Asked by Hays C from Seattle
- Sep 24, 2011
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerNo. It does not fit the older (2007/2008) 23" or 30" Cinema HD Displays.
I have one of each and moved from the residence at which I originally purchased the displays. I had a desk specially designed for wall mounted displays. We moved in, I unpacked my MacPro and Displays, and realized the adaptor only fits the newer ... displays.
Several 3rd party vendors list the needed part (M9649 G/A) on their sites, but all seem to be discontinued.
I am desperately seeking the part since I would have to rebuild my new office to use the desk stands! Ahhh, c'est la vie!- Answered by Richard G from Northport
