Can I plug a USB Hub to the lastest released Time Capsule 1TB (MC344ZP) in order to connect a printer and an external HDD (or several ones)?
In the Tech Specs of the Time Capsule, Appel says: "USB port for connecting a USB printer or USB external hard drive", what makes me think you can only connect one of them.
However in the Setup Guide for the April released Time Capsule Apple says: "Connect a USB hub to your Time Capsule, and then connect multiple USB devices, such as printers or hard disks..."
What is the reality?- Asked by Jose Ignacio G from Valencia

Best AnswerWithout a hub connected, the USB port alone will connect one USB device, either a printer or a hard drive.
Time Capsule is not limited to only one USB device, as you can connect a self-powered USB hub for the ability to connect multiple USB printers and hard drives.
You can also connect multiple printers to a single Ethernet port by using an Ethernet switch, and yes, you can operate both USB and Ethernet connected printers simultaneously.- Answered by Andrew H from Carmel

Will Time capsule drive speakers from USB port?
I have speakers being driven off of an airport express via a 3.5 jack cable. I want to replace the airport express router function with a time capsule and still be able to drive speakers using airplay and/or iTunes. Since the time capsule has a USB port, is there a way to drive speakers using this port?

Best AnswerNo, but you can still replace the router function with a new Time Capsule while continuing to stream music through your Express. A great many Express owners use them just for streaming music.

Can the Time Capsule share the Internet connection from a cable modem (plugged into TC's WAN port) to other computers via Ethernet?
In other words: can I setup TC as an Internet Sharing device for the rest of the network via Ethernet? (similar to what Windows Internet Connection Sharing does)
My cable modem would plug in to the TC WAN port and I'm hoping I can set the TC up so it shares the cable modem's Internet connection to the rest of the network. The purpose being that I don't have a router (the cable modem has no router capability) and thus far I had to use a computer running 24/7 to share the internet connection.- Asked by Steffen I

Best AnswerYes. Thats probably the easiest way as there is no duplication of functionality. Your cable modem just handles the internet connection and the Time Capsule does things like NAT and DHCP server to "share" the connection. These are things that all-in-one "routers" do. Remember the Time Capsule is also a Router, thats what the LAN ports are. I have a similar set-up, in my case an ADSL modem rather than a cable modem. That then serves 4 computers wired and wireless. Have a browse of the set-up guide (online) before you buy.

Airport vs. Time Capsule
Is the Time Capsule the same as an Airport (except for the obvious storage advantage)??? And if so, are they exactly as good as eachother??
Can I have a Time Capsule without an Airport??

I currently use an Airport Extreme, if I get one of these , how will this fit in to my network? Can I use the AE to extend the wireless network ?
iMac 24 patched direct to Airport Extreme, Aiport Express on 1st floor, used to extend network - how best to add a Time Capsule to this wireless setup. For example, could the TC be used as the primary wireless router with the AE used to extend the network (in addition to the Express!!)?

Best AnswerYes, using the Airport supported WDS technology you can extend your network. Think of the Time Capsule as an Airport Extreme with an internal hard drive. You have all of the same base capabilities, plus TimeMachine back-up and a Network Attached Storage device.
In your current configuration, you could swap out your existing Airport Extreme for a new TimeCapsule and exploit the speed advantage of the direct ethernet connection, while gaining the daul-band support, greater speed and range, as well as the guest account feature your earlier Airport Extreme likely does not have. The greater range may actually improve the performance of your current Airport Express in its present position or permit you to move it further away and extend your network. You could also use your existing Airport Express to extend your network even further if you use all three devices.- Answered by Steve G from Aptos

Can I use Time Capsule to stream iTunes videos to my MacBook Pro which is connected to my LCD television?
I have an iMac and a MacBook Pro and I connect the laptop to the TV to watch my iTunes movies and TV shows but many of them are on my iMac so I stream them through home sharing to my laptop. An Airport Express provides the network and the internet. With HD shows though i often find it lagging and skipping. So i want to use the Time Capsule to store all my itunes videos and stream them to whatever i want to watch them on. Possible?
- Asked by Davis W from Portland

Best AnswerYes, but your lagging will continue (nothing will change) as long as any part of the pathway is wifi. Time Capsule does not do anything different than the Airport Express, except hold data either on its internal HD or one attached via USB.
If you use the built-in gigabit ethernet switch on the Time Capsule to both connect (via Cat 5 or better wire,) the MacBook Pro and the iMac, then you could avoid the skips and lag.
If you only want to watch video on your TV, then the new Apple TV is the better device. It can (wifi) stream from either the content on your MacBook Pro or iMac. The difference is caching the data so no skips occur.- Answered by Harold Z from Honolulu

Can time capsule stream music wirelessly?
- Asked by Theodoros K from Boston

Best AnswerIf you are looking for the TC to store music and you play them on different devices, no.
If you are looking to plug speakers into it and stream/play music, no.
If you are looking to wirelessly have your computer's library connected and play same library through a different device (variety of supported speakers, iOS devices, other computers via homesharing, speakers plugged into airport express), yes.- Answered by Albert C from Modesto

I have an Apple TV 2. I am looking to purchase a Time Capsule. Can I stream movies stored on TC to Apple TV without the use of a computer?
Also, I am looking for a solution that will NOT require the use of any "jailbreaking" or any other such method. I am looking for a process that will make this possible using only the options that come with the products.
Thank you all for any help that I can receive.- Asked by Dennis H from Killeen

Best AnswerYou can only stream to Apple TV 2 from an iTunes library that is on the same Home Share as your ATV. If you have used your Time Capsule disk as a storage drive for iTunes movies then you will be able to do what you are looking for, but you can't stream unless the computer that runs the iTunes library is on.

Time Capsule for Macbook Air as External Harddrive

Best AnswerThe hard drive on Time Capsule can act as an external hard drive (over both the wired and wireless networks) for any Mac OS X devices on your network. iOS devices (ie iPad/iPhone) don't have that capability.
