Best AnswerYes, there are special charges. Most iPhone chargers have not the required 10W though and the iPad shows "not charging" - in reality, it charges really slow. But there are 3rd party chargers such as Garmin which actually charge with 10W and plug into the cigarette plugs. If they only mention the iPhone, do not buy it if it is for a iPad. Now, you are not supposed to use these for the iPhone since it is charging with a higher wattage but I do it anyways. It charges an iPhone withing half the normal time (iPhone gets warm).

is the iPad docking station compatible with the ipad mini?
- Asked by Tracey J from Edmonton

Best AnswerUnfortunately no. The iPad dock uses the old 30 pin iPod connector on the iPad 2 and the iPad (3rd Generation) The iPad Mini utilizes the new Lightning connector and will not plug into the docking station. There are Lightning to 30 pin adapters, but the bulkiness of the adapter makes it impractical to use with the iPad dock.

Shuld you fully charge the iPad 2 before using the first time

Best AnswerIt is not necessary. Lithium-polymer batteries do not suffer from "memory effects". Just make sure to complete a charge cycle at least once a month and keep the device out of extreme hot/cold environments. A charge cycle is when the battery's power is entirely consumed. So if I use 50% of the battery today, charge the battery back to 100%, and use 50% of the battery again tomorrow, that will have completed a single charge cycle. The battery typically lasts a certain number of charge cycles before it degrades to about 80% of the original battery capacity.

can i use my iphone 4 charger to charge my ipad2
- Asked by Jessica A

Best AnswerYes, but it will charge very slowly - the iPhone charger only delivers half as much power as the iPad charger. The iPad may display "Not Charging" in the battery indicator in the upper right corner of the screen because the power supplied is low, but if you leave it plugged in for a long time it will in fact increase in charge.

Best AnswerYou can buy a stylus for the new iPad. The same stylus that can be used on previous generation iPads will still work on the third generation iPad. Targus has a great stylus that not only functions well but it looks nice too.
