can i watch the sky sports app with a composite av cable from my iphone 4 to tv?

i'm pleased that you asked that question.
I have been advised to buy the component cable rather than the composite if your TV is pretty new and, I guess, pretty good (HD ready etc.)
The problem is picture degradation as the Sky app is for the iPhone so degrades when blown up to TV size, which makes sense.

Ability to connect IPAD to Logitech z5300 speakers
I'd like to connect my ipad to my speakers at work - Logitech z5300. Its capable of 2, 4.1 and 5.1. The back of the z5300 is colored coded same as my with Green (front), Black (rear) and Center/SUB (orange)
I have what I think is Component cable - 1 small jack for the IPAD connection - and 3 connectors downstream (Red, Yellow, White)
I cannot seem to find the right combination to drive the 5.1 speakers?- Asked by David D from Fair Oaks

AV component cable discontinued?
I went online to the Apple Store to search for the AV component cable which is recommended to connect to an HDTV which lacks an HDMI port. Unfortunately, I cannot find it on the Apple Store site. The only thing I find is the Composite Connector. Has the Component Connector AV cable been discontinued? If not, where can I find it?

Can I use the composite cable in my TV if my TV has the 3 video ports (Y, Pb, and Pr)?
- Asked by Marco Pocholo V from Quezon City
- Mar 14, 2011
- Flag as inappropriate
Answer
Y, Pb and Pr are the sockets for Component video, not composite.
Composite cables send audio down the red & white cables and video down the yellow cable whilst Component sends digital video data down all three cables, which means you can't use the composite cable in the component sockets because the TV won't receive the right video information.
For your TV to display video accurately you need to use the specific Apple Component adaptor, the one with 5 cables.- Answered by Phil D
