You won't be able to use the Composite or Component AV cable to watch TV on your iPad.
The both the component and composite cable can be used to watch movies from your iPhone, iPod or iPad on a TV with matching inputs, but they will not go in the opposite direction.
You might try using your PC or MAC TV tuner (such as an Elgato EyeTV) and converting the video onto an iPad viewable format and transferring it to your iPad via iTunes, or purchase or rent the show directly from iTunes directly from your iPad.

Is there a longer Composite AV cable instead of 6'?
I have an Apple IPAD IOS4 and purchased a shorter wire of the Composite AV cable to watch TV. Do you have a longer cable to purchase?

This is the longest cable offered by Apple. There are a wide variety of extension cables you can purchase to lengthen the run, you just want to look for male to female when doing a search. I just got a 12 foot extension to plug into the auxiliary jack in our van and keep the device where my passenger can operate it. Works very nicely!

Streaming NFL Sunday Ticket
By using the AV cable, could I stream NFL games from my iPad to TV via the Sunday Ticket app? I currently watch live games through the NFL Sunday Ticket app, but would like to project these games to a larger screen. Please let me know. Thanks.

Yes. You can watch the video stream using the cable. Mine will only output the video using the HQ mode if I switch it to SQ it just goes black. I have it hooked to my Head-Unit in my truck and it works great.

I have dish network as my satellite provider, I have the dish network app on my iphone, will these cable play my dish network from my iphone to my tv
basically I want to watch dish network from my iphone into a larger tv, I know youtube you can, and netflix I can play only sound not video, Im only concerned if dish network will work out to my tv on my boat?

No it will not send video out on the A/V cable just sound!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope Dish Network will upgrade there app
