Best Answeryes you can, this thing is pretty much the same as a HDMI cable. You plug it in and you will get video and audio (means you will get the audio from the iPhone and you will get to see your phone displayed on a bigger screen).

AnswerIf all you want is to play the sound through other speakers, all you need is a male to male headphone cable that you can get pretty much anywhere (as long as the device has an input for audio).
