Is this a Dual slot Card, e.g size/depth incl cooler? Will it work on a PC?
I know this card fits into one PCIE slot, but is it a double PCIE depth card (incl fan housing/cooler) and does anyone know if it will work on a PC as well as in a Mac i.e not a Mac running Windows, but an actually PC?) and vice versa..

AnswerIt is a double wide, if you look at the picture, the video-out ports take up one slot, and the fan exhaust takes up the next card slot. If the card boots in Windows via Bootcamp, then it will work in PC-only box, but why not save $100 or more and get a PC only card?

Is it possible to install three ATI Radeon HD 5770 video cards in the Mac Pro 2010 model?
Understand that there may be physical limitations, due to the heat-sink size. Also, a maximum of 24 dynamically allocated PCI-E lanes (quoted elsewhere). If these do not work, then are there other cards that would?

why are there 2 video cards pictured? It only lists 3 connections, so that led me to believe you only get one of those 2 units. Please clarify

AnswerCorrect - you only get one, they are just being lazy using the same image for the two variants of the card.

will it drive two separate monitors? I am trying to hook up four monitors and need to upgrade from my nVidia GeForce GT 120s
- Asked by Robert D from North Las Vegas

AnswerIt will drive up to 3 monitors simultaneously. However to add the 4th, you need to either use a second graphics card that doesn't require additional power, or find a PCIe y-cable to split the power from the mainboard to the graphics card. Also beware that these cards take up 2 PCI slots, so you will run out of space quickly stacking them up.

Can I run 2x 5770's in a MP 1,1?
I'm running 2 large dual-link monitors off a single 8800 GT currently. Don't know if 1 x 5770 in the 16x lane, and the 8800 moved to the 8x lane is an option either.

AnswerTechnically you can run 2, but only one would be on a 16x lane, the other would be on a 4x at best because they are 2 slot height cards. Another option if you wanted to still run 2 5770's, would be to have them both at 8x, not optimal, but a better average for the 2 cards.
I personally had a GeForce 8800 as well, I moved it up to the slow just below the hard drives so it is on 8x, and have the Radeon HD 5770 in the #1 slot set for 16x. This allows me to have 4 displays running (my main display on the 5770 mirrored to an HDTV, then 2 smaller displays running off of the GeForce 8800)- Answered by Brian M from Winnipeg

NEC 3090 users, do you see video from boot onward?
It is a "known issue" with both the 3870 and the 4870 cards that you won't see anything on a NEC 3090 until you get past the whole boot sequence and to the login screen (which is a pain, believe me!). Also I would want to be running this from the Dual-Link DVI (not through the $99 adapter and mini displayport) if that makes a difference.
I'm wondering if this issue has been resolved with this card or not before I buy.- Asked by Mark G from Oakville

AnswerThis card works fine from boot with the NEC 3090. It took so long for this question to be posted that I purchased it and installed and tested it fine.

Answer
Can't understand why so many people think a 12" video card can be put in a ½"-thick laptop. That's ridiculous. You can't upgrade the video in a laptop, there's no room for a card.
These adapters ONLY work in Mac Pros, NOT MacBooks, NOT iMacs, NOT Minis. It says so right there in the name of the product, "for Mac Pro." Please people, if you read this, stop asking about MacBook Pro upgrades, because there aren't any.- Answered by Eric O from Los Angeles

Answer
Yes. The lowest slot in the Mac Pro is double-wide, however, so you'll still have three open slots if needed.

AnswerThey should be around the same level of noise, I have two 5770's in my PC and they are far from loud. BTW this card is about 2 to 3 times faster.
