will a universal dock work with i phone 4? what is the difference between the iphone4 dock?
- Asked by Laurie H.4305 A from San Pedro
- Oct 7, 2010
- Flag as inappropriate
AnswerYes, the universal dock will work but you 'll have to buy iphone 4 dock adapters for it.
The difference between those docks is that the iphone 4 dock is made JUST for iphone 4 and it is just working with it. So no other ipod or iphone will fit into it. The universal dock has got a remote and there are many adapters for it so if you buy some adapters every iphone will fit into. Because of that the universal dock is more expensive.- Answered by Christopher H from Wien

Best AnswerNo cables come with the dock, just the dock itself. On the back you have the standard Apple iPod/iPhone port, with a "Line Out" for Audio.

Could anyone suggest any good speakers that are compatible with the iPhone 4 Dock, please..??

AnswerLet me start off by saying i'm not an advocate for Bose, or blindly buy a product just because of a name. I buy what works for me and quality is a big deal, because I like purchases to last. I use a couple of different speakers. At work, I use the new Bose SoundLink wireless mobile speaker. It's a little pricey, but it MORE than does the job in an office or cubicle. It has the added benefit of easily being linked to your iPhone via Bluetooth or through an aux cord to the dock. The sound is extremely clear and has plenty of bass for a portable speaker. It travels easily from work to home to use in a kitchen or den if want good sound without firing up the home theater. The portability also makes the price tag a lot more worth while. At home I have a set of the Bose companion 5 multimedia computer speaker set. For me, they sounded as nice as anything out there. The volume controller has an aux jack right on it the plug up your iPhone dock and let you play your phone's music right through your pc. If your looking for something less pricey, may the Sonos or JBL iPod docks will do. For me, these two fulfill what I need and then some.

Is there a dock that can be shared for the iPad and the iPhone? Not particularly at the same time, just simply have the ability to charge either.
- Asked by Jan P from Springfield
- Jan 28, 2011

AnswerI wondered the same since I would like to use one dock for both an iPad and iPhone. At first, it appeared that Apple's dock for the iPad would work but when an Apple store employee tried to dock an iPhone on the iPad dock we discovered the fit was poor. We had to wiggle the iPhone into position and pry it off afterwards.
Griffin makes a dual dock to charge an iPad and iPhone simultaneously but it is grotesquely large.- Answered by Ty C from Summerfield

how come i cant listen any music from speaker (Build in speaker in iphone) once my IPHONE4 was place to the dock and connected to my pc.

AnswerThe iPhone 4 dock features an Audio Line-Out port so the dock can be connected directly to your stereo or amplifier's Line-In port using a standard 1.5mm to 1.5mm jack lead. Once you place the iPhone 4 in to the dock, audio direction changes from internal speaker to this Line-Out port, so if you have a device with a Line-In socket on it, get the lead which will connect the dock to the stereo or whatever device you have and listen loud.

Does iphone 4 with invisible shield fit i iphone 4 dock?
- Asked by Tomas E

Best AnswerYes it does, but it leaves a crease/line in the invisible shield on the back. The crease only happens if you have it on the back whether or not you have an invisible shield on the front.
