Do I need an iPod dock to Use VGA adopter on a projector?
I got my VGA adopter from Apple Store and tried using it with the Projector so I can view my iMovies. How will I go about it? Do I really need an iPad dock to connect to the VGA adopter, to the VGA cable to the projector? Thanks

AnswerThe adapter has the female vga connection. Your projector has a female VGA connector. So the adapter does not plug directly into the projector. Think of your iPad/iPhone with the adapter attached as a lap top computer. Whether you have a lap top pc or your adapter you need a standard VGA cable that has male plugs at both ends to connect between your adapter and the projector.

Will it allow you to play movies and videos purchased on iTunes? Does belkin cable work to show movies and videos from iPad to tv?

AnswerI tried watching a movie I bought from the iTunes store with it, but it doesn't work, not even with an app for viewing Internet browsers, PDFs, etc on a screen. Apparently the quality loss is too great because VGA is analog, not digital.
However, I had no problems watching the same movie on my TV through the Dock to Component video cable. Be prepared, though: it's not Blue-Ray quality, but it works.

Will the iPad to VGA Adapter allow me to connect my iPad to a HP or similar LCD touch screen monitor and interact with the iPad using the monitor?

Best AnswerNo. A VGA connector only sends information one way, to the monitor. You would be able to interact with the IPad, and see the results on the external monitor, but touching the external monitor would not affect the iPad.

Will the educational apps work on a SmartBoard (interactive whiteboard)?

Best AnswerIf I understand correctly that you mean projecting apps onto the SmartBoard, it is not possible at this time. There is no way to connect the SmartBoard to the iPad, but Smart Tech (SmartBoard's company) may have a solution at some point in the future. Also, most apps do not support the video out function yet, but this again may be solved in the future. If you want to show a presentation via Keynote, though, it will show up on the SmartBoard just fine.

Wich cable can I use for my ipad to watch movies if my TV dosen't have VGA connection

Best AnswerYou will need to purchase Apple's Composite Video Cable (not to be confused with the component cable which is an older technology developed for earlier iPhones and iPods) which is compatible with the iPad. This cable is capable of outputting high definition video and sound to your television.
How the composite cable works:
First, plug the power adapter into an outlet which will provide constant power to your iPad while viewing videos.
Second, plug the RCA plugs into your tv...yellow to video and red and white to sound.
Third, change your tv's input to use the correct set of RCA inputs...my tv uses the AV input when I plug them into the back of my tv for example.
Finally, plug the Apple "Dock" cable into your iPad. This will provide power to your device and serve as the output to your tv through the RCA cables you plugged into your tv. Now you just play your movie or music!- Answered by Phillip C from Ogden
