AnswerThe power adapter will fit your mac however it will not fit the UK style wall plug. So I suggest that you buy the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit which comes with one UK power adapter that slides onto your MagSafe power adapter.

Nope, you don't. If you look closely at the fine print on the adapter, you'll see that it is rated for 220V. What you'll need is a converter for the physical pins so that they can fit into the UK style outlets. I've found them at lots of places in the UK for less than 5 quid.

Can I use the same power adapter all over the world for all voltages and both 50 and 60 Hz frequency?
Frequency: The power adapter that came with my Macbook Pro in the USA stopped working while using it in Japan where the power is 100 V 50 Hz. I noticed it got really hot when I used it in Japan. I had to buy a new one in Tokyo, and this one doesn't seem to get nearly as hot when I'm using it in Japan. I am wondering if I need 2 different power adapters for the 2 different countries.

AnswerI've used mine all over the world without trouble. When the adapter steps up or down and has to work at a higher or lower frequency its efficiency changes and heat is a normal by-product of the lost energy in conversion. You may just have had a weak unit.

Best AnswerNew Zealand power is the same as Australia - 240 volts. the Adapter shipped with the Mac will work fine, as it auto switches.

AnswerI would get an 85W charger so that one charger could charge both laptops no problem. Macbook airs have voltage regulators that can lower the voltage coming into the computer.

AnswerAnswered my own question. The photo is a bit misleading. New charger attaches at 90 degree angle so it appears it won't fit. Works fine.

The Apple MagSafe Power adapter is specially designed to change with the input voltages (100-240V AC). There is no problem pluging you MagSafe power adapter into a New Zealand 240V outlet, just make sure you have the correct adapter since the plugins in New Zealand have slanted prongs.

AnswerThese adapters are for the MacBook Pro, not the Powerbooks. I have not seen another Magsafe adapter by another manufacturer due to the design being patented. Friends that have used the 3rd party PowerBook adapters have all fried their computers, without exception.
