No, it cannot. At this time, the AirPrint capability has to be preconfigured by the manufacturer of the printer.

If I were to start my own wireless network, whould I still need a modem or could I plug my ADSL2 line straight into it?
If not, which modem would be best? I believe we have a splitter from the phone line to the ADSL...

Answer
You would still need an ADSL modem. Previously I used a Zoom ADSL
modem, which worked great, but now I just use the wireless router my ISP sent me (just turning off the wireless function of course and using the airport instead)- Answered by Paul J from London

What exactly is the AirPort Express?
Am not familiar with this product and the description is a little unclear. Is this basically a wireless router? Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, this is a wireless router. Apple has offered three wireless routers, the more expensive (costs about twice a much) and powerful AirPort Extreme, the Time Capsule that combines a big hard drive for backup (using OS X's Time Machine feature) with an AirPort Extreme, and this one, AirPort Express. AirPort Express had the added feature of handling iTunes streaming, but otherwise, seemed to have less power and capability than the AirPort Extreme, albeit for a lot less money. This is an upgrade of AirPort Express, and it appears to come closer the AirPort Extreme than the previous AirPort Express. Apple users have found it much easier to set up and use these routers than non-Apple brands, for the same reason that other Apple products tend to be easier to set up and use than others. I don't own ANY wireless router but have been studying them before making a purchase decision for a long time now, and will be eager to see the answers that get posted here to the questions some asked about the difference between this new AirPort Express model and the AirPort Extreme.)

Yes it will. It has the ability to create, extend, or join a network. It will only extend the network if you have the Time Capsule or Extreme Base Station.

50, according to the product page. The previous generation only had 10, so this new one has a definite improvement in that area.

Will having a printer in the USB port of the AirPort Express allow me to print via AirPrint?

Best Answer
You will need an AirPrint enabled printer. Not just any printer hooked to USB will work. And most AirPrint enabled printers, however, have wi-fi built in and do not need to be connected via USB.

Is this different from the 2 Airport Express units I already have that plug right into the wall to extend my Airport Extreme's wifi signal?
The two that I already have plug right into the wall & work great (and are out of sight). This new one seems like it needs to be plugged in with a cord. The cord is a problem, I was planning on putting one in every room, but cords all over the place would present a domestic issue.

Yes it can. Apple says that it can "Act as a single Wi-Fi interface to any computer or almost any other devices such as game consoles that has an Ethernet port but doesn't itself have built-in Wi-Fi"

Can both ethernet ports be used when extending or joining an existing network?
The only limitation I have with the current generation of Airport Express is the fact that I can only plug in one wired device when using it to extend or join a current network. If someone gets one of these and has an existing network, could you please find out if both ports are usable or if you need to buy an external hub to connect 2 wired devices to the network.

No... the WAN port is for a WAN - it's not a LAN port, so it still only has one LAN connection. It is not a switch. You would need to buy a switch to have multiple wired connections connecting to this Airport Express. I'd suggest at home just a good brand one for about £20 ($30) and at least 10/100 if not 10/100/1000.
Don't use a Hub. I'm not sure many people use them since the early 90s!- Answered by Bobak F
