Does the magic trackpad work better than the magic mouse?
My magic mouse is terrible. Right-clicking is a nightmare, and the battery power is weak. I always need to re-charge the batteries.

Best AnswerWell, for me personally, I never unpacked my Magic Mouse after working with my Magic Trackpad for a few hours. However, that's subjective and merely my own opinion. I have read that some people like to use both, depending on what they do on their Mac's.
Battery life is also not that great with the Trackpad. I purchased the Apple battery charger and believe me, between the wireless keyboard, the Magic Mouse, and the Trackpad, it won't take long until it will pay for itself.- Answered by Jack T from Los Angeles

can you right click with the magic trackpad ?
- Asked by Paul N from Oakville

Best AnswerYes, you certainly can. You can assign the lower left or lower right area of the Trackpad to act as the right click and you can also check "Secondary tap" under the Two finger options. This means that whenever you tap two fingers at the same time, the system will recognize that as the right click.
It's very easy to configure what you want one, two, three, and even four finger tapping and swiping to accomplish. System Preferences is where these configurations are made.- Answered by Jack T from Los Angeles

Can a click be reprogrammed?
For example, when you do a normal click (or tap) on the track pad, instead of doing what a normal click (or tap) does, I want it to mimic a key stroke? More specifically the space button?

Can I use the trackpad to move the cursor to a new location? Now, I have to physically pick up my mouse to move my cursor. Thanks.

AnswerYes, Magic Trackpad behaves like the trackpads found in Mac notebooks. You drag your finger on the trackpad to move the cursor, however the trackpad itself remains stationary.

Is the magic trackpad easy to bring around?
My trackpad on my mac is acting on its own and the Apple store said that I have to pay 1300 dollars to get it fixed because AppleCare doesn't cover it. Should I buy this so I can replace my trackpad?

AnswerIn the flyer it says:
"Turning on Your Trackpad
To turn your on trackpad, press and hold the on/off button until the indicator light comes on"

I found that if you use a 'Mouse Pad' that has the raised wrist support at the bottom end, using the trackpad is absolutely wonderful ! No more wrist and forearm cramping from scrolling, picking up/putting down the mouse, as well as the 'clicking' with the mouse has been replaced by a single finger 'Tap' !!

I frequently run windows on my imac, will the trackpad work on windows?
I'm an engineer and my simulators often don't work on OSX. I'd really like the functionality of the trackpad on my circuit simulators.

Two Magic Trackpads: one for cursor, one as numeric?
I'd like to have a wireless keyboard (that I have) and a Magic Trackpad (ditto), but I'd also need a numeric pad as one of my key programs (Vectorworks) needs it.
There is a nasty piece of plastic for the last purpose, but I wonder if I could have a Mobee Magic Numpad in a second Magic TP simultaneously.- Asked by Petri S from Helsinki

AnswerDue to the bluetooth settings on your computer, it is only possible to have one trackpad connected to your computer at one time.

Best AnswerYou would be better off with something like the wacom "bamboo craft pen and touch" if you really want to use it as a tablet. It both acts as a multitouch trackpad, but accepts pen input.

What do I use for cleaning the trackpad? I use iKlean for the screen, keyboard, and case of my MacBook Pro, but labeling states "avoid trackpad"
iKlean, sold in Apple stores, works great removing oily smudges from fingers, so I've also been using it on the trackpad. I'm hoping this hasn't compromised the sensitivity or anything else that could cause damage to a brand-new laptop. Suggestions?

What is the battery life on this trackpad and the wireless keyboard?

Best AnswerUsing standard alkalines, I get about 3 months of 3-4 hours use per day. However, I recently switched to Apples charger and AA's. They are fairly elegant and attractive for being a simple set of six AA's and a little charger. I seem to be seeing much longer battery life, as my percentage meter in Sytem Preferences is falling much slower than it did with the Alkalines. Apples batteries are, in fact, rebranded Sanyo Eneloops. However, the Apple setup is well priced and a perfect solution as it provides six batteries. Two for the keyboard, two for the trackpad, and two for whichever one dies first. The moment one of them goes dead, you slap it's batteries into the charger and the cycle begins anew.
