AnswerNo because it does not have an IR (infa-red) sensor as it says above it had to be connected to compatible dock.

the latest mac mini is fully encased in a box of aluminum, and i cannot find any opening for IR Receiver, will this remote work for the latest mac mini?

Best Answeryes, this remote uses the same codes as the plastic remote control thus allowing it to function with the same devices. just be sure that if you paired the previous remote to un-pair before attempting to use the new remote.

What buttons do you push to change songs
This remote looks really cool but I was wounding what the buttons do because not all the buttons are marked, I was woundering what the difference is between this remote and the one I recieved when I bought the I pod dock.
