What I have found is you need to get the dock station extenders cord from apple or do a google search for a 30 pin male to female adapter cord.

Thank you Henry but I have discovered that there is an adapter that fits the docking plug on the ipad dock which in turn fits the Ipad mini smaller plug. Useful also for all other bits like the charging plug

No. I read online that it would fit with the smart case, but I found out otherwise. Yes, it will fit in the dock if you only want to use it as a stand, but the connector will not be able to make a connection, so it is just a stand, not a dock. Perhaps the person who claimed it would was confusing the smart case with the smart cover.

No, the iPad doesn't allow bluetooth mouse use.

No. The Apple iPad Dock does not have an IR (infrared) receiver which is what would receive the IR signal from the Apple Remote.

No. The camera kit for the iPad has a USB connector. If you put in a USB type of thumb-drive then the iPad will show that it has insufficient power to power the drive. And I have tried a number of USB thumb-drives and none work. So once again, no, you cannot.

Cable part of the answer is correct. The charger part of the answer is incorrect. Output voltage from Apple iPhone and iPad chargers are identical at 5V which is the USB standard all devices must adhere to. What differs is the amperage the charger can deliver and that directly affects the charging time. The iPad charger output is rated at 2.1 amps (approx 10 watts) while the iPhone is half that (1.1 amps or 5 watts). So, while you can charge the iPad with the iPhone charger, it will take at least twice as long. That doesn't mean, though, that using the iPad charger for your iPhone will charge it faster -- the electronics in the charger will limit it to the maximum current that the device being charged will accept.
