Best Answerconsidering the other person didnt read the question before answering i felt i should answer, yes the ipad can still play music out of its own speaker while docked and even connected to itunes, but like the other poster says there is a line out port on the back of the dock which when used will mute the ipad speakers and play your music out of the speakers/headphones plugged in there

AnswerYes! you can easily buy a 3.5mm aux. cable to connect to the back of the iPad dock, and then plug the other end into your amplifier via the same 3.5mm connection. hope this helps!

Is a PC/Mac absolutely necessary to charge an iPad?
It says that the mac requirements and/or pc req's are needed to charge the iPad itself. Would the iPad dock eliminate the "middle man", or does the iPad itself have an adapter to plus into an outlet?

Best AnswerIt would be nice but unfortunately no. The dock features a connector that plugs directly into the iPad, the iPad however does not have a a connector on the side and therefore cannot be docked in landscape :)

The rear support and the connector for the iPad is fixed, so you cannot change the angle of the screen in relation to the dock, no.

AnswerShort answer -- no. Long answer -- overcharged Lithium ion batteries may become unstable to the point where they will overheat and potentially ignite so device manufacturers have carefully designed their charging circuitry to shut down when the battery is "full".
