Is the physical screen size PRECISELY, EXACTLY the same as the new 27" iMac?
I know the number of pixels is the same. But is the screen size exactly the same? In other words, sitting them side by side for use together, is the resolution absolutely identical? In other words is the PIXELS PER INCH absolutely identical? Thanks.

Best AnswerYep, same screen size, same pixel density. Overall height is slightly different than the 27 inch iMac which you would only notice if they were side by side.

How does the USB come into effect
I see how the Magsafe and MiniDisplay works, but the USP doesn't seem to make sense. If you connect to any computer all you need is the Mini DisplayPort connecter. Why the USB?
- Asked by Janice G from Port Perry

AnswerThere are three USB ports on the back of this display. Connecting the USB cable to a computer means that those three USB ports are also connected to the computer. In a sense, the display acts as a USB hub—since you give up one USB port on the actual computer, but gain three on the back of the display (for a net gain of two).

Will this display or a future one offer Thunderbolt support?
I would like to use such a display as a complete docking station. Will such a display offer the ability to pass that signal through to an additional device? The current cable would not be conducive to a secondary device between laptop and display.

Once you are done working and need to carry on your MacBook how do you safely disconnect the display?

Best AnswerAny disks or devices connected to the display must be unmounted or removed safely. However the display itself can just be unplugged. The Mac will take a few seconds to reconfigure its display (and you will see a blue screen while this happens) and then you will be all ready to go.

The video cable that comes with the monitor is 3.3 ft. or 1 meter long.
The Apple online store (US) sells a 2 meter combination mini DisplayPort/USB extension cable. It's called Dr. Bott mini DisplayPort Extension Pro (6.6 ft./2 m) and it sells for $39.95. This would provide an extension of 3 meters when combined with the cable on the monitor and should handle most beside or under the desk MacPro arrangements. If that's not enough, the Apple Store description says that you can daisy chain up to three of these cables which would provide an extension of 6 meters - 7 meters or 23ft. when combined with the cable that comes with the monitor.- Answered by Brian M from Pittsburgh
