suitable monitor arm?
Folks I have both a 24" and 27" screen for various macs, and also face the issue of getting this monitor to work at the same height as my iMac, the obvious solution is a monitor arm, but though Apple produce a VESA adapter, I'm struggling to find an appropriate arm that can take the weight of these screens, any ideas? preferably a supplier in the UK?

Why is this so expensive if it's just a display?
I'm just wondering, does this have any other uses? i.e can I use it as a TV?
This is NOT a stupid question - think about it - it is a THOUSAND dollars, and it's just a display, a big shiny tv. Without ANY other purpose. You can get 50" plasma/LED Smart tvs for that amount of money!
Can this be used for anything else? I'm NOT buying it if it's just a screen.- Asked by Joanne M

Apple new LED 27 inch cinema dispolay. Can it be connected to any (non apple) PC.
Can you hook up using the apple converting plug( accessory - ending in a DVI connector) to a standard PC like a new Dell XPS 9100. If you can is the performance similar to having it connected to an Apple product. Further can the camera and the usb accessory connectors on the display also be utilized wuith a standard Windows t 64 bit pc (NOT via bootcamp)

I want to use the display without any stand (long story). I would like to know if this is possible. I'd like to remove the table top stand all together.

No. From the posted specifications of the iMac 27" and the 27" Cinema Display (height from base), the iMac is approximately 0.9 inches higher. Why they did that is /boggle. If the stand were adjustable in height it would be fine, but if it's anything like the iMac stand (and the pictures seem to indicate it is exactly the same design), it cannot be adjusted vertically.
The obvious conclusion is that it's somewhat ill-suited as a secondary display if you need them aligned. Again, for no good reason for Apple to have done that. It's a total waste considering it would have been a cakewalk design-wise, but there it is...- Answered by Jon B from Hillsboro
