Can I use the plug adapters with my iPad charger?
The iPod charger that comes with the World Travel Kit has normal iPod specs (Input: 100-240V 0.15A 50-60Hz Output: 5V 1A). I am going to Spain and had planned on using this kit with my iPod Touch, but I just got an iPad and noticed that it's charger is a little different (Input 100-240V 0.45A 50-60Hz Output: 5.1V 2.3A). Can I just snap the plug adapters from this kit into my iPad charger and have it work ok? I don't want to accidentally fry my iPad or have it not charge at all!

I am an Electrical Engineer. Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: The only things that is important for using any AC adapters overseas are the following:
* You need to have the right type of plug. If you do not it will not fit, and if you force it, it could break.
* The adapter needs to support the right voltage for input. Some of the world uses around 110 volts. The rest uses around 220 volts. Many digital devices have power adapters that support both, which is often written as 100-240V or sometimes 110-240V. As long as it support both you are good. If it does not things get messier, and I won't get into them here.
* It must support the correct frequency for input. Again some parts of the world use 60 Hz, the rest uses 50 Hz. Just about all AC adapters support both. If the do they will say 50-60Hz.
So looking at the iPad charger:
Does it have the right plug? Probably not, but with this kit you can change the plug, so now it has the right plug.
Does it support both 110V and 220V? Yes it does. It supports from 100V to 240V.
Does it support both 50Hz and 60Hz? Yes.
Therefore: With the kit and your iPad charger it will work pretty much anywhere on earth, and even on the space station!
The last number for input is Amperage. It is related to how much Current or "Juice" it uses. You really don't need to worry about that, as all AC adapters use little enough current that they will work anywhere.- Answered by JS

Do I need a power converter to charge my iPhone in a country with 220 volt power?
I have an adapter to fit the outlet, but do I also need a converter to convert the electricity from 220 v to 110 v?

The USB power adapter you get with an iPhone works with 110-240V power, so if you have one of those, you will be fine according to another answer on this site.

You will find that both North American and European style plugs are common.
Electrical service is 220v 50hz.
Adapters for going between plug styles are readily available locally.
3 prong grounded outlets are uncommon. The same adapters will help with this problem.- Answered by AS from Kelowna

It will charge the iPad (slowly) if it's not in use and the screen is off. The iPhone charger is 5 watts and the iPad requires 10 watts for fast charging.

do i need a converter with the world travel adapter kit when/ the country has 220 power? Please keep answer simple w/o jargon like 'brick'.
World Travel Adapter Kit given to me as a gift. We travel widely throughout the world. Converters are heavy. Do I need to bring one along to use with the World Travel Adapter Kit? I am not an electrical engineer, and would appreciate a simple answer.

No you don't. How to tell when you do and don't: read the label on your hardware (Mac, hair dryer, whatever). If it says "110-220v", then it will accept either voltage and only needs an adapter. If it ONLY says "110v", then you need a converter also (to "convert" the foreign 220v power to 110v).

Will my IPAD2 purchased in the USA require a electric current converter if used in India? If the answer is "No, not necessary" please explain

Answer
You do not need a current convertor as the 10W USB Power Adapter that is included with the iPad (1 and 2) will accept 100-240 volts.
You will however need a plug adapter to be able to plug the North American plug into the Indian style power socket.- Answered by SS from Dewittville

Sure it will work; after all it's jut a World Travel Adapter Kit. Just watch out for voltage fluctuations. Carrying a spare or two won't harm since they are cheap enough! Use proper adapter prongs to match your power outlet.

Will this work in Ireland to charge my iPhone? Do I really need it or just an adapter plug? Will the iphone charger take up to 240 volts?
Motorola phones say on the charger 110-240V, but I cannot read the silver print on the iPhone charger. I know I need an adaptor plug for Ireland, but I don't know if I need a voltage converter as well. If someone can read the charger for iPhone 3GS for me, that would be helpful.

You don't need this. One of those "plug changers" will do the trick (not a voltage converter -- just a plug changer). The little "white block" for the iPhone takes up to 240v (even the US one -- check the fine print on the bottom by the plugs).
I went to Scotland last summer and took both my iPhone block charger and my MacBook and charger -- plugged both into a short U.S. extension cord, put a plug adapter on the end of the extension cord and went about charging my gear every night. Both power supplies auto-ranged for voltage and it worked out great!- Answered by JK from Harrisburg

I am going to South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. Are all of the necessary plugs in the box? Can I use them to charge my camera batteries?
I have a Canon camera battery charger and would prefer to only bring one set of adapters. Will the world travel adapter kit work with other non-Apple products?

Best Answer
The world travel adapter kit does not contain an adaptor for South Africa or Botswana, not sure about Zimbabwe though.
When I went I used my regular charger and bought a local adapter, just note their voltage is 220v.
Hope this helps.- Answered by JS from Brookwater

Best Answer
You will not need a converter for your iPad 2. However, depending on where you go in Europe, you may need an adapter. The iPad 2 (like most Apple products) will work worldwide without the use of a converter... but may need an adapter, depending on where you are.

Thank you for that answer. I've been back from Brazil 2 weeks already, but I still appreciate people taking time to answer, and let me update my findings: Yes, same plugs/adapters/connections and voltage (220V) as in USA -- in fact in the Sao Paulo and other Brazilian airports, they have free charging outlets that everyone can connect into while in transit. I think it would be of great benefit to Apple to make a notation on their packaging stating Brazil uses the SAME adapter and this kit is not needed, and/or come up with a compact charger for travel if it uses the same 220V. The upcoming Olympics in Rio in 2016 is going to be a major destination and they can make a ton of money if they market, inform and even come up with a "light" version of its adapter. Just FYI, I am not advocating this because I am Brazilian, I am Italian-American citizen who could not find/obtain this info prior to my visit and I hope this info is shared with all those in the future who travel.

The 1st answer is incorrect...... I bought this kit to be able to change the plug head on the 85W Mag Safe Power Adapter for my new MacBook Pro - 15". When I travel to any one of 25 countries I regularly visit throughout the world, it has worked just fine! The fact that there is a USB cable and power adapter for my iPhone in the box was an added bonus!
