It has to be a Mac. Keynote will not run in Windows.
You may export a Keynote presentation to the PowerPoint format, which can then be opened in PowerPoint. The PowerPoint program comes in versions that run on Windows and Mac computers.- Answered by Jeffrey K from Centennial

Does iWork come preinstalled when you buy a new MacBook Pro?
I know that iLife comes with the MacBook Pro, but I was just wondering if iWork does aswell? Also, if I buy a MacBook pro, does it have the new snow leopard OS on it?

Does iWork 09 work on LION?
With the new update of Lion, will this version of iWork operate on the new OS or should I wait for an update before upgrading to Lion?

Yes, iWork '09 should actually work in Lion, as Apple has released at the same time of the launch of Lion an update that makes all iWork '09 apps work with Lion functionalities, such as full screen and the resume function.

I was a user of Microsoft Publisher on Windows XP. The best way I found to convert files to Pages when I moved to a Mac was to create a PDF file version and then copy and paste the contents into Pages. It doesn't keep all the formatting necessarily but at least it gets the data there. If you don't own a program on the windows side that can create PDF files, there is a freeware program called CutePDF Writer that works great to just print the file to a PDF. Then copy the PDF to Mac and copy and paste your data. Crude but it might help you out. It helped me get my files moved over.

Can I install iWork on my PC?
I have iWork 09, and I have a PC. So instead of buying Word for $200, is it possible for me to install iWork on my PC? Coz Mac's allow Word to be installed on their systems, so does it work vice-versa?

iWork is not currently install-able on Windows due to the major differences in the operating systems and the amount of work it takes to make it compatible with Windows. They are made from two completely different programming languages, styles, and architecture and they don't really want to exchange much information about each other's system in order for the other to be unable to "copy" it.
Also the people at Apple want to try and make iWork something that only a Mac can do for marketing reasons (in other words they want to keep iWork another reason to get a Mac).
And finally the graphics that iWork uses are pretty much only capable on Macs. Windows has not yet been able to compete with Apple when it comes to graphics so even if Apple made iWork for Windows they would have to tone down the graphic interface a LOT, which would require them to essentially start almost from scratch, which isn't really worth it.

not in a literal sense, because of it saving in a iWork file such as .pages or .numbers, which PCs just dont like. HOWEVER you can export it as a word document or excel file by going to file>export and then choosing what you want a copy of it as, the only downside to this is you may loose some of the fonts and formats as they are not on PC's word processors or whatever program

I believe you can save or export a Pages document to a PDF but can you make it into a jpeg?

Like the other response says, Pages won't do a native export to JPEG. An easier way to get it to an image format is to export to PDF (File > Export… > PDF) or print to PDF (File > Print... > PDF > Save as PDF). Then open the PDF in Preview. Then you can File > Save As… and select the proper image format. It will then ask for resolution; 150 pixels/inch is usually pretty good.
Keep in mind this will only output the selected page, so if you have a multi-page document you will need to do this for each page.- Answered by Andrew C from Babylon

What is the difference between buying iWork online or buying Pages, Numbers and Keynote individually through the App Store?
It is significantly cheaper to buy them through the Mac App Store; what am i missing by not buying iWork online? Do i still get fonts, templates, etc. with the App Store versions?

Do not worry if you buy the apps from the Mac App Store. They are the exact same versions as the boxed one. Also, if you have several macs, you can't install the boxed version on all of them, but if you do buy them from the Mac App Store, you are licensed to install them on all of your authorized macs.

The IWork Apps (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote) will not open a PDF file. PDF files can be inserted into documents made by these apps.
All three of these apps can be used to create PDF files. One of the ways this can be accomplished in all three apps is by accessing Share->Export... from the menu bar and choosing the PDF option.
Mac OSX's native application "Preview" is the default app on the platform for opening, annotating and editing PDF files.
Editing tasks within Preview are limited and appear to be mainly concentrated on page operations (rotation, deletion, re-ordering etc). Annotation, however, is robust, and includes drawing tools, links, notes, highlighting, strikethrough, underline etc. Annotation attributes are handled via the inspector.- Answered by David T from Tooele

Yes. The best choice in my opinion would be Filemaker. If that product is too pricey or more than what you are looking for, they also have a smaller Personal database application (for Mac, iPhone, and iPad) called Bento for Mac. You can purchase both from Apple.

Yes, you can open .doc and .docx files in iWork; although depending on what fonts you've downloaded, your mac may have to convert the font from calibri or other word fonts.

1) AppleWorks still runs on Macs.
2) Pages, Numbers, and Keynote can read the corresponding .cwk files for AppleWorks wordprocessing, spreadsheet, and presentation. iWork does not handle the other AppleWorks types: database, drawing, paint. You can only use the single iWork on one computer. If you have a laptop and a desktop (like I do), you have to buy the Family Pack, even if you are the only one to use them. The Family Pack is good for up to 5 computers in one household.

Hey.
I'm not quite sure what you mean about "Z's", but yes, it does have what Pages (iWork's word processor) calls, a "British English" language setting.
Here is an answer I just provided to someone looking for details on how to use the English UK language setting:
"This bugged me too - I needed English Australian! It is a pain because you will have to do this *every* time, there is no option to change the default from English (American). (Can you believe it?!!)
1) Ensure the 'Inspector' is open.
1a) To open the Inspector, click the blue round button at the top right of Pages that as an "i" in the middle of it.
2) Go to the "Text" tab. (The tab up the top of the Inspector with the "T")
3) Go to the "More" tab. (The 4th tab along at the top, within the 'Text' section/tab)
4) Go to "Language"
5) Select "British English" "

No. Numbers will not support VBA macros. You can use automator or apple script to speed up some creation processes. But the short answer is no.
