AnswerNo, this mouse is not like a track pad, as much I wish they would have done this. Although it has touch screen capability it is very limited in what it can actually do.

Can you hold the right click function whilst also clicking left, ie. as in some games, right click zoom, left click fire at the same time
- Asked by Tom V from Glen Forrest
- Jan 26, 2010

Best AnswerNo you can't do this because the mouse is essentially one big button, but it detects where your fingers are on the mouse to determine if you are right clicking or left clicking. Once you have pressed the button down, the whole button is pressed down and nothing else can be done.
If you have a mighty mouse you'll be able to test this because it works exactly the same. if you have a finger resting on both the left and right areas on the mouse, it will left click, it doesn't matter where you pressed down, the mouse detects that you have both fingers on and left clicks. To right click you have to lift your finger off the left button and then click down. In order to click again you have to lift the button back up again, no second click simultaneously I'm afraid. This is exactly the same function on both the magic and mighty mouse.- Answered by Matthew F

Can I use two or more magic mice in my home on two different machines?
If so how do I tell one to stay with my mac and the other to stay with my MacBook? For example...
- Asked by Ashley C
- Mar 31, 2011

AnswerYes you can use two or more magic mice in your home on two or more different machines.
You sync the mouse via bluetooth to the computer. As long as you don't sync it to two computers at the same time that are close to each other you'll be fine. This is the same way it works in the apple stores.
A good comparison would be a room full of people using bluetooth headsets to connect to their cell phones. There are not any problems with cross signals there either.- Answered by Jeffrey K from Columbus

Did anyone use the new Magic Mouse with a CAD application like AutoCAD?
I would lke to know if it is possible to zoom with that mouse... which is essential in Autocad.
- Asked by Gregor B

Best AnswerMagic Mouse perfect for everything EXCEPT cad! You will be constantly zooming in AutoCad by accident! Within Autocad, type "zoomfactor" -enter- then "3" -enter- (this is the lowest setting). This will slow down the zoom rate and may help a little.

What surfaces will the Magic Mouse work on? I have a sheet of class covering my desk, will it work on glass?
- Asked by Dennis M from Tampa
- Oct 20, 2009
- Flag as inappropriate
Best AnswerFrom first hand experience I can say the Magic Mouse does NOT work on glass. I have a glass top desk and the Magic Mouse. If I lay a sheet of paper on top of the glass MM works fine. If I tape that same piece of paper under the glass, it does not work at all.

Best AnswerThere is an app called MagicPrefs which allows you to fully customize the touch features of the Magic Mouse. For example, you can assign a three-finger click to activate Exposé and a four-button click to activate the Dashboard, essentially giving it the same functionality as the old Mighty Mouse.

Any suggestions for a mousepad when using on a glass desk?

Best Answeryes. since this uses laser tracking i'd suggest very much getting a mousepad. i guess the laser can't track between mirrors and translucent surfaces. the mouse is so beautiful it actually looks better without any mousepad etc underneath! but you cant win em all yes

Best AnswerJust what JH answered, computer with Bluetooth / (BT) - pairing is simple. Everything is there in your Mac Software, no need to hunt down anything. Just enable your MacBook Pro's BT (if it's not already) and do "Setup a BT Device"
Make sure to set your new mouse's preferences per your taste, enjoy!- Answered by Mihir G from Fontana
